Revision as of 17:02, 17 November 2014

Without a valid Source please do not add any questions or statements regarding the other two event legendaries, they will be added when they are officially confirmed by Nintendo or the Pokémon Company.--Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page) 18:37, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Userspace

Out of curiosity, is this meant to be part of your user talk, or the actual page for Diancie (Pokemon). Because the page for Diancie (Pokemon has no text on it.--BigBadBatter (talk) 23:15, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Pages are occasionally developed in the userspace and moved to the mainspace later on, rather than making it directly in the mainspace. It should be moving to the mainspace soon though. --Pokemaster97 23:40, 11 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for clarifying, I was pretty confused!--BigBadBatter (talk) 02:02, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Category

Just wondering, why is Diancie listed on this page, when it does not fit that category? --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 04:57, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

It's because the BaseStat template on the page was empty, so the cat is added by default when that happens. Kai * the Arc Toraph 05:16, 12 February 2014 (UTC)
It's just because the base stats template has all 0's in it right now. The math that that template does interprets that (or rather, the SpAtk and SpDef parts) as "Special stat became both Special Attack and Special Defense". The template could be commented out for now (which got done), or we could just let it sit, as is, until we can put the right stats in there. Or someone could also just change the 0's to -1's. That'd still be recognizable as dummy data, and it wouldn't set the category.
I would point out, ArcToraphim, that Zygarde has a TCG section that looks exactly like Diancie's did before you hid it (that's what I took it from in fact). I just think they should be treated the same (one way or the other). (Likewise the manga section...) Tiddlywinks (talk) 05:26, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

Unknown Pokémon

Would Template:Unknown Pokémon be appropriate here? Miles (talk) 05:17, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

biology

wouldn't it be more accurate to say headdress instead of hair?Yamitora1 (talk) 02:09, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Since I was the one who added in the biology, I think headdress sounds better now that I think about it. Will change it if it's okay with everyone...or I would have, but it's protected. Berrenta (talk) 02:24, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Ability

It was recently revealed in clearer CoroCoro scans that Diancie's ability is Clear Body. Could someone add this? --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 05:12, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Diancie and Carbink

Would it be worth mentioning in the Trivia section that Diancie shares several similarities with Carbink, including its type? Eskay64 (talk) 11:53, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Their shared species name should be put, but that's about it. Lots of Pokémon have the same type combinations and similar origins. Glik (talk) 13:43, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
It's not just that they have the same type combination, they're the only Pokémon to have it. Also, they have the same regular Ability (and similar stat distibution, though the exact numbers aren't known). I think they have so many similarities that they all are worth noting.--Den Zen 14:08, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Not to mention the similar Japanese names: Melecie, Diancie. Too many similarities to ignore. - Taylor (talk) 14:12, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
Shared species name? Maybe. Same type combination? No, even if they're the only ones to have it, they are not related. Base stats? No. We don't even know Diancie's base stats. Name? Leaning towards no. Origins? It could be mentioned in the origin section, but not as trivia.--ForceFire 14:24, 13 February 2014 (UTC)
I thought we axed comparison trivia a while ago. Just because two Pokemon are very similar doesn't mean we should have to note it. I agree with the shared species name, but we don't need to state the obvious IMO. --Pokemaster97 18:11, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Its a waste of time and resources to note every single thing two Pokémon or more share in common. Why does any of this have to be on this or Carbink's pages? If anything it would more fit in with the fannon page, even if I think its just a waste of productive resources IMO Yamitora1 (talk) 19:32, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

Well, now there's an official link between the two, since one of Diancie's Pokédex entries calls Diancie "A sudden transformation of Carbink". - Blazios talk 15:15, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
This isn't the first time a Pokémon, even a legendary Pokémon, has spontaneously formed from a lesser Pokémon, life form or substance. Deoxys came from a simple virus that mutated when exposed to laser radiation. Grimer came about from a sudden mutation of industrial pollutants, same as Muk IIRC. Garbador and it's line are also a similar case. Doduo was discovered as a sudden mutation from a never revealed previous Pokémon. Koffing is another example, in the Y Pokédex (and probably a dex from a previous gen) states "Very rarely, a sudden mutation can result in two small Koffing twins becoming conjoined as a Weezing." Bagon wanted to fly, and a spontaneous change in its cells gave it that wish. Shedinja appears out of the blue when a Nincada evolves into a Ninjask. The genetic disaster known as Eevee is the poster child for sudden mutations. Heck, its not even Pokémon anymore, but also even the berries in the games can now suddenly produce mutations. And its believed all Pokémon outside of Arceus and the trios it created come from Mew.
Over time Pokémon don't just evolve into a new stage, but they also evolve in a Darwin-like fashion. Their genes become stronger or weaker, they begin to take on new shapes and even coloration. But going back to the Doduo thing, we never mention the Pokémon it mutated from, and treat it as a whole new Pokémon altogether without having "evolved" from the previous Pokémon, which like I said has never been revealed. Also touching back onto the Shedinja thing as well, it too is not 100% considered to be a evolution of Nincada, and is also treated as its own Pokémon for most intents and purposes.
Unfortunately its still too early to really say much about this new development. Since little info is around, we don't want to make ourselves look foolish by latching onto the smallest bit of info and make a mountain out of an anthill sort-of-speak. For all we know right now, it might turn out that Carbink/Diancie is a Zooid similar to the Portuguese Man o' war. So until more information is released, we have to remain diligent in preventing speculation and spreading misinformation. Yamitora1 (talk) 18:19, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

So I have a question, are Diancie and Carbink not releated according to a Pokémon fan website? --Cinday123 (Talk) 23:21, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

They are related according to a Pokédex entry, but so far nothing more. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 23:23,2/14/2014 (UTC)
So are they're the ones that will never evolve? --Cinday123 (Talk) 23:26, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
We don't know at the moment. Information is only just coming out. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 23:27,2/14/2014 (UTC)
More or less you can think of their relationship this way. They are related in a similar manner that Plusle and Minun or Sawk and Throh are related. Its clear they share a distinct relationship to one another, but the origin of how each one came to be different from the other has yet to be revealed.
To put a real world spin on it, think about how the domesticated dog, in all its breeds are all related to and have ancestry with the Wolf. A wolf and a beagle are clearly thought and classified as separate animals, but the beagle still derives form the wolf regardless of this.
I'm not sure if I helped explain it or made it more confusing, but that's my observation of the situation. Yamitora1 (talk) 18:08, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Plus, Diance was discovered by a hacker.

Diance was discovered by a hacker. applys to the other 2 as well. Igor The Mii (talk) 19:06, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

That's not really relevant to the article..... Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 19:07,2/13/2014 (UTC)

Base Stats

According to http://uk.news.yahoo.com/pokemon-diancie-legendary-character-arrive-pokemon-x-y-113013968.html#G3DXfZk Dianice's base stats are Her base stats: HP 60, Attack 75, Defense 175, Special Attack 75, Special Defense 175, Speed 50, total 610.

I'm not sure how reliable this is, but I thought I would bring it up. If this is true, we know that Dianice is not this Gen's "Mew". Yamitora1 (talk) 19:57, 13 February 2014 (UTC)

The level 15 event one I have has base stats of: HP 43, Attack 38, Defense 48, Sp. Atk 39, Sp. Def 54, Speed 26, Total 248 and as far as I can tell it has 31 Def, 31 Sp.Def, 31 Speed IVs --Emblenj (talk) 10:50, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Signature move

Being a hacker myself I have found that it's signature move is Diamond Storm, rock type move it has 100 power and 95 acc and is like skull bash, it charges up and razes defense and next turn attacks. Superbobbobbob3 (talk) 16:02, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

We only use information that is official, so until it's announced in CoroCoro or some other official resource, we won't use this information. Thank you, though. :) --FireGambit (talk) 16:04, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
First of all, that isn't true at all, Superbobbobbob3. We've already known from an actual photograph from the same hacker who discovered Diancie (Smealum) - and is therefore far more reliable - that Diancie has a signature move called Diamond Storm, and we've already known its type, power, and accuracy. We also know that it is NOT like Skull Bash, but a single-turn move that merely has a chance of raising defense when completed. Please don't take credit for Smealum's discovery, even if you did change it to the point of being false. EpicDeino (talk) 16:17, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
I'm not taking credit for his discovery (as I only looked into Diancie because of him), I'm giving you the info that I know from hacking in my game, I didn't know that it was a one turn move because my game freezes when it uses it, plus the move info sounds like it's like skull bash or a nother charge move (and if you are wrong I am going to be all told you so) it says quote "the user WHIPS UP a storm of diamonds to damage the opposing pokemon, this may also raise the users defense stat" whip up sounds a lot like razer wind and how it charges.Superbobbobbob3 (talk) 20:46, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
Just to inform you, every move that take two turns to execute (Solar Beam, Razor Wind, Geomancy, Skull Bash, etc) all note more that one turn is involved in their descriptions. What's been circulating about Diamond Storm makes no indication of that. Kai * the Arc Toraph 20:58, 14 February 2014 (UTC)
Having obtained Diancie in my own Pokémon Y, I can confirm what EpicDeino has stated to be true regarding Diamond Storm. It does not need a turn to charge up, Superbobbobbob3. :) I believe the description is merely an aesthetic wording, as the attack animation does whip up diamonds in a whirlwind before sending them toward the opponent.Toonie (talk) 00:56, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Genderless

According to screenshots on pokemonxy.com, Diancie is genderless. - unsigned comment from JRBockus (talkcontribs)

Base HP

Diancie's HP at level 50 is 125 as shown in a screenshot at Pokemon.com. This is the same as Carbink at level 50 with 31 IVs in HP and no EVs. Diancie's base HP is 50, the same as Carbink. This is also further supported by leaks. TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 18:58, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

It is possible that it could be higher or lower. We don't know the IVs and/or EVs of the Diancie in the screenshots. --The Truth aka Relicant 19:02, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Regarding Diancie and the other two leaked Pokemon

A while back when the Gen IV and V games first launched, we had articles of Pokemon like Arceus and Genesect well before official sources revealed them or gave them artwork. So why with Gen VI we're being forced to wait for official sources to reveal these event legendaries before we start articles on them? Superjustinbros. (talk) 19:15, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

At the first leak of the three legends, we only had one source that said for certain that these three (Diancie, Volcanion, Hoopa), are in the game's data. This one single hacker was the only first hand source, as every other site that had them claiming to exist sourced him. Anyone in a journalism field will tell you that one source is not enough, and this (at least in my opinion) should apply to Wikis as well. So at the current moment, while we do have official confirmation from CoroCoro that Diancie exists, we still only have one first hand source saying that the other two do. Granted, we will most likely hear from official sources sooner or later, but for now, it's staying as is. Just to not flood yet another talk page with this, the full discussion from before Diancie was revealed on this topic can be read here. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 19:26,2/14/2014 (UTC)
Also there is a fact that hacking 3DS is far harder than DS. Digging into data to prove that they exist is anything but easy. Eridanus (talk) 21:45, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Pokédex entry

The Pokédex entry is out now, so should it be added on the page, or do we wait for the revelation of which version the entry belongs to? --FinnishPokéFan92 (talk) 20:12, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Yes we do.--Den Zen 20:20, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

The new pokedex entry is: A sudden transformation of carbink, its pink glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the whole world. I believe this should be added and that diancie is the evolved form of carbink - unsigned comment from Pokemonmysterysolver (talkcontribs)

Read the two posts above. Glik (talk) 18:02, 25 February 2014 (UTC)

The Pokédex entry I have from the event on Pokemon Y is: It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands. --Emblenj (talk) 10:34, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

If you look in the Central Dex the last one you should find at the time is Diancie. I was given a Diancie myself by trading and it has good stats but its speed and defense needs improving, hopefully it's in the mega evolution. Why can't we edit the pokemon info like the mega stone Diancite? Eevee2001 (talk) 06:30, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Korean name

Can someone add the Korean name because it was just confirmed? --Cinday123 (Talk) 10:39, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Do you have a source link? Nintendo Korea nor their official website appears to have it. G50 11:47, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Here's the source link right here for Diancie's Korean name. --Cinday123 (Talk) 11:53, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Only official sources may be used. Fansites may not be used as a source for information. G50 11:58, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
OK, so when Diancie will appear on a Pokémon official website in Korean? --Cinday123 (Talk) 12:04, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
It'll probably be in a couple of days. This link will update when Diancie is officially announced for Korea. G50 12:10, 15 February 2014 (UTC)
Um, check on its page, Diancie got the Korean name when translated and trademarked Diancie, you should change it to Diansi. --Cinday123 (Talk) 06:27, 18 February 2014 (UTC)

Better Quality Image

So, the Financial Post has an article about Diancie with a nice, clear image. [2] I would go and upload it myself, but I'm not sure I have permission to do that (what with this article being super-important and all), nor am I too sure about how. If somebody could upload it, that'd be great!

(Sorry if this isn't the best spot to say this, by the way.) ~Piika (talk) 18:43, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

A clear, 1280px image has already been uploaded; it just takes some time to update.--Den Zen 19:01, 15 February 2014 (UTC)

Category request

Because the category Promotion-only Pokémon, I would like to request this by adding this category to this page. --Cinday123 (Talk) 00:04, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

English name

I was wondering could the English name come also from the word Fiancée. It's "dress" looks really much like wedding dress and its name resembles the word. (Heke97 (talk) 11:35, 19 February 2014 (UTC))

That's too much of a stretch.--ForceFire 12:58, 19 February 2014 (UTC)

My first thought upon seeing this page was that the name was related to Diana_(mythology), but it may be too much of a stretch as well. Ignika (talk) 13:00, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Diance and the other legendary pokemon

Since the hacker correctly predicted a diancie does that mean the other two legendaries he revealed are real as well? PS: I forgot how to sign my username and stuff. - unsigned comment from Poke1 (talkcontribs)

Maybe, but as we still have no more than one source and it's not official confirmation, we're holding off on adding them. Also, signing is done by "~~~~"..... and stuff. Schiffy (瀬藤健二) (Talk Contribs) 01:59,2/20/2014 (UTC)
Actually we have 2 sources, Smea and some other guy who originally leaked the signature moves. And now that Powersave for 3DS has got an update that can imitate Mystery Gifts, I reckon we wouldn't be too far from getting confirmation of the other two----BigBadBatter 21:45, 26 February 2014 (UTC)

Learnset

Since this youtube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMpwx6TipGU) revealed the TM part of the learnset, should information be added to this page then? Ping 14:48, 2/27/2014 (EST)

I'd ask one of the higher-ups first. I imagine it should be fine but ask them just in case----BigBadBatter 21:36, 27 February 2014 (UTC)

Stat/Move Data (via hackers)

Note that because this is unconfirmed data, I personally believe that this should NOT be added to the article yet, but I am going to list it here so that when/if it gets confirmed, we have it as a reference and can just copy+paste it into the article. However, if the higher-ups disagree with me and want to put it in the article right away, that works too. --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 21:56, 1 March 2014 (UTC)

See above. I flat-out say that this is unconfirmed. This is just what I've read from people who have gotten Diancie via the PowerSave3DS. It is not confirmed at all, and I even say that I don't think it should be added to the article. The reason that I posted it is so that when Diancie is officially obtainable via Event, if this turns out to be its stats/moves, we don't have to waste time writing it all down, we can just copy+paste from the source code of this Talk Page. --GoldenSandslash15 (talk) 06:57, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Can someone add this to the Pokédex entry?

Pikachu Bros. (talk) 00:12, 15 March 2014 (UTC)

The issue is that there's a second dex entry as well (if you look up a few section). Since we don't seem to know which one is which, it'd may be better to just leave it blank for now. --Pokemaster97 00:19, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
"The Pokédex entry I have from the event on Pokemon Y is: It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands." This quote claims that it's from Y, but he or she also says that he or she got it from the event, so he or she may not have known and was lying, or cheated it in and misspoke. Pikachu Bros. (talk) 00:39, 15 March 2014 (UTC)
According to Serebii.net "It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands." is from Y, while "A sudden transformation of Carbink, its pink, glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the whole world." is from X. I have updated the stuff to match that. FanOfCountry (talk) 20:23, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

Biology information

According to the official X and Y game site it says and I quote: "Groups of Carbink tend to gather around Diancie, but Diancie pays them little heed and acts according to its own will." Maybe something to put in the Biology section? FanOfCountry (talk) 20:23, 19 April 2014 (UTC)

Other Pokemon

Thanks to leaking, not only was Diancie revealed, but also two other Pokemon: Volcanion (Fire/Water) and Hoopa (Ghost/Psychic). - unsigned comment from Crummymummy (talkcontribs)

We know. Ataro (talk) 18:20, 11 May 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, but why don't they have pages? Crum Mum 00:29, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

Because they haven't been officially revealed. No pages until it is. --Pokemaster97 00:36, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

Leaking also proved that Mega Latias, Latios, Sceptile, Swampert, Sableye, and Diancie are real. If a page is made thanks, If not, I'm still OK with it. Crum Mum 17:04, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

That was different as Sceptile, Swampert, Sableye, and Diancie were all leaked in CoroCoro and lots of people for Latias and Latios. Only one person who is known has gotten Hoopa and Volcanion--Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page) 17:09, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

EV Yield Mistake?

The Def and Sp.Def are blank, is this a mistake? Yamitora1 (talk) 00:34, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

Mega Diancie

Just saying it was in CoroCoro, it should be added to this page Superbobbobbob3 (talk) 19:51, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

Nothing regarding the CoroCoro leaks will be added until we're 100% sure that they're not high-grade fakes. - Kogoro - Talk to me - 19:55, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
Should it be mentioned on the article that is Mega Stone is obtainable in ORAS? The UK trailer for the games says it at the bottom that you can obtain it in those games. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhUTtvAlbms unlike the others such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Swampert, it is the only Mega Stone listed as obtainable. Yamitora1 (talk) 20:55, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Mega Diancie Trivia

- The first Event-Exclusive legendary to get a Mega (Mewtwo is not an event legendary) - The first Mega for a Generation 6 Pokémon - The first Mega to be announced before the release of its original form

This could be added to either Diancie's trivia or Mega Evolution's trivia. :) --BlackButterfree (talk) 21:18, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Anime screenshot

I uploaded a screenshot of Diancie, but by mistake, it was named "0045.jpg". Can you rename it to "Diancie anime.jpg"? ~☆I'm TheShinyMew!☆~ 18:23, 13 June 2014 (UTC)

Movie Gender Trivia

Should it be noted that although its a genderless Pokémon, the movie Diancie is referred to as Princess and other female identifiers? Yamitora1 (talk) 16:05, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

No. [Some] Pokémon are referred to as kings/queens/prince/princess/whatever, so I don't thinks its worth mentioning.--ForceFire 02:54, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
Genderless means that the gender is unknown. Not that it doesn't have one. Ataro (talk) 05:19, 22 June 2014 (UTC)
Per Force Fire. The gender should only be included into the movie Diancie article. In other words, there is no point to note Diancie could be a male or female. Raymond 03:29, 10 July 2014 (UTC)

Kalos Pokedex

Diancie can be found in the Central Pokedex as Pokémon #151. Sorry, but right now I can't take a picture with my phone to prove it, but if you also have a Diancie, you can prove it. Buffbills7701 (talk) 20:58, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

I would like to add on to this by saying Diancie's Pokédex color is pink and its body shape is consisting of a head and arms.- unsigned comment from Toonie (talkcontribs)
I can confirm that it is in the head and arms body shape. (seen here) Body04.png I can also confirm that it is in the Undiscovered Egg Group. Buffbills7701 (talk) 12:13, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

Official Release

Now that Diancie is officially released, shouldn't we add all the technical stat/learnset/etc. info about it ? --Wolfy Harfleur 76700 (talk) 11:33, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Agree. Similar to those which can Mega evolve in ORAS, it should be unprotected now. Raymond 05:54, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Stats

Diancie has been officially released and its base stats are out. Shouldn't this be added? Bry Landry (talk) 14:06, 26 July 2014 (UTC)

Veekun

Would Veekun be a reliable source for game info on Diancie? Because if so I could just write down the missing game info here and someone could add it to the page. --NOBODY (talk) 01:50, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

TCG Listings

Diancie has its own TCG page, but said page is not linked to from the article. I would remedy that myself, but I'm not allowed to for whatever reason (I have an account and have confirmed my e-mail address). Bigpboy (talk) 05:26, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Well...

Shouldn't it be mentioned in the trivia that Diancie is the second legendary pokemon to have a Mega Evolution? The Seeker (talk) 19:56, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Uhm, Mewtwo? ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 20:23, 12 September 2014 (UTC)
I see you changed first to second in your question, but no. Second occasions are not notable. ☼ BlazingFist ☼ 21:22, 12 September 2014 (UTC)

Tiddlywinks (talk) 01:28, 16 November 2014 (UTC)

Piggybacking Tiddlywinks' request. Can some add Diancie's anime pic (both normal and Mega Evolution) in the page? PattyMan 01:31, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
And also, the characters that appear after you pick up Diancie say some things that should probably be incorporated into the Biology section. They say: "Its body absorbs light with a perfect balance and gives off a radiance that looks like nothing in this world." and "Legend has it that Diancie protects its travel partners from accidents and illnesses." Tiddlywinks (talk) 04:11, 16 November 2014 (UTC)
All of the above have been added. Thank you, both of you. Berrenta (talk) 17:02, 17 November 2014 (UTC)
