Dartrix is extremely sensitive to other presences in the area and can detect opponents behind it and throw feathers to strike them without even seeing them. This Pokémon conceals sharp-bladed feathers inside its wings, showing astounding precision as it sends them flying in attack. And it goes beyond propelling its blade quills in simple straight lines—it can even bend these feathers to change their trajectories!

Revealing a certain snobbiness in its personality, Dartrix cares a great deal about its appearance, grooming its feathers in every spare moment. In truth, it’s also a bit of a birdbrain, with a tendency to bungle things up. Once it makes a mistake, it sometimes gets into a desperate struggle to gloss over the situation and ends up making a bigger mess than ever.

At times, this Pokémon feels so bothered by its dirty or ruffled feathers that it can’t focus on battle. When it loses its focus, it sometimes even retires from the battle on the spot! It’s up to each Trainer to help Dartrix overcome this troublesome stage. If this Pokémon is with a Trainer who helps it through, its strength will grow hugely!

Thanks, but we can seen exactly what it says on the site for ourselves. Information like this should be put in the editor's own words and then cited before being added (see other Gen VII Pokemon for reference). In proper writing, we'd have to put all of that in quotations and state in the text where it was from if we were to copy it word for word like that. That goes against the general style of the wiki. Russian name

The Russian name is Дартрикс so if someone could add that that would be great c: --Celadonkey (talk) 15:26, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Name origin - German

I'd say the name is composed of arbor (Latin for tree) and the English word toss. At least I can't think of anything else. - unsigned comment from HQna (talkcontribs)

I'ld say that it is likely also derived from "Albatross", a type of large bird. Mangaman13 (talk) 03:35, 10 October 2016 (UTC)

Name origin - French

In "Efflèche", the "eff" part likely comes from "(chouette) effraie" (barn owl) https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chouette_effraie - unsigned comment from Azalee (talkcontribs) Seconding this. --Unbirth (talk) 20:21, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Name Origin - Japanese

フクスロー (Fukusurō) likely derives from 梟 (fukurō) and スロー (surō), which is the English word "throw". --Sam1729 (talk) 20:06, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

Design elements

It might be worth noting to whoever is writing the physical appearance section that the brown area resembles both a Waistcoat and a Coconut, while the orange quills within the green feathers resemble seeds protruding from a seed pod/ petals emerging from a bud. - unsigned comment from ZiggyAngelo8 (talkcontribs)

Biology

"Dartrix is an avian Pokémon resembling an owl. The upper portion of its body is dark brown, while its wings, facial disc, and the rest of its feathers are white. There are two tan spots on the upperside of each wing, and it conceals sharp-bladed feathers inside the leafy plumage on the underside. Its heart-shaped face has a stubby, hooked beak that is white on top and orange-brown on the lower mandible. Although it is often seen squinting, its eyes are large with black pupils. Two green leaves sprout from its chest, arranged in a bow tie shape, and two larger leaves make up its tail. Dartrix also has leaves growing from above its eyes, with one hanging loosely reminiscent of a quiff hairstyle. Its talons are orange-brown with two toes facing forward and one pointed back.

This Pokémon is very alert and sensitive to the presence of others around it. It can launch attacks on enemies behind it without even seeing them. Dartrix stores razor-sharp blade quills inside its wings, and it can propel them with astounding precision. It can even bend these feathers to alter the trajectory of its strikes. Dartrix also spends a great deal of time grooming its feathers to maintain its appearance. This compulsion will occasionally lead to it losing focus when its plumage is ruffled or dirty, even retiring from battle to preen. It is also described as a bit of a birdbrain, with a tendency to bungle things up. It sometimes gets into a desperate struggle to gloss over its mistakes and ends up making the situation even messier. A trainer who helps this Pokémon through this difficult stage will allow it to reach its full strength. ~Destruction on Wings~ (talk) 03:52, 5 October 2016 (UTC)"

Other than the "quiff" part (I feel like it's closer to an asymmetric cut) I really like this! --Celadonkey (talk) 00:34, 6 October 2016 (UTC)

Dartix's bowtie

In light of the fact that Decidueye has been revealed, I noticed that there is a progression through the bowties worn throughout Rowlets evolution: lively, wilting, dead. Should this be added into the biology of Dartrix and Decidueye? - unsigned comment from ZiggyAngelo8 (talkcontribs)

Possible Name Origin?

The 'trix' part could also be derived from venatrix (latin for 'huntress'). It might be a bit of a stretch though.
