A small reference to the Pal Park?
Back in Generation II, trading to GSC from RBY was possible, as Ash was able to bring and transfer his old pokemon easy. In Gen III, he had to leave everyone (except Pikachu) behind. Even as RSE was unable to take Pokemon from GSC and RBY due to the change in mechanics, Ash was still able to use his old ones in later episodes, as he did in previous seasons.
In this episode, Ash was about to get his old Pokemon back. But after Team Rocket steals and then loses them, Ash goes out to find his old Pokemon and retrieves them with their respective Pokeballs. This seems similar to the same "trouble" we go through to get ours back, thanks to them adding the Pal Park feature.

Ash was able to have all of his Pokémon transferred to his possession, despite the fact that in the episode where Crabby was caught, it was explicitly said that a Trainer could have no more than six Pokémon in their possession at any point in time. That would be Glalie, Torkoal, Heracross, Noctowl and Muk, as said in the episode's description. Ash also had Bayleef, Totodile, Pikachu, and several other of his Pokémon with him. No matter how you put it, that's more than six.--Black Yin Zekrom 20:49, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Heracross Horn Error
I agree that there's an error here. I watched it just right now in good high quality. I had a different argument but I rechecked and I can see how that argument would be confusing. So now I'm just using the horn disappears way too quickly to be a simply the horn be curved argument. I watched the scene in very slow motion. Here's what happened. Heracross looks up at Professor Oak at that very instance it's horn is completely in view. Now as it straightens up, did you read that? Straighten up, so in that sense the horn could only elevate higher, not curve behind. Heracross isn't looking at a bird directly above it, all Heracross does is straighten up it's body so that the horn would be higher than it was, in the sense that it gives Heracross more height. At that moment of straightening up I noticed two things (remember this is in slow motion), first the tip of the horn was cut off halfway, Heracross then slightly straightened up more and then it completely almost cuts off the tip of Heracross as indicated in the supplied screenshot. The way I see it, it looked like the background somehow got foreground properties, while the tip of Heracross's horn got background. And because the Background isn't transparent it covered Heracross's horn, the background if you notice remains the same, no matter how high Heracross would've gotten, Heracross would've likely been cut off. So yes the horn is technically there, it's just covered by the background. Still don't believe me? Watch the scene frame by frame, and you'll see the error or the abrupt change, And in case you don't want do that, at least do this: Look at Heracross, look at it completely in all the other non missing horn tip shots (and focus on its position with all it's body movements). And also think about how Heracross is moving. Does it make any sense for a horn to be "curved" at the angle it is (if you assume it isn't an error), when the change in Heracross's motion is relatively little in comparison to the the abrupt change in the tip of Heracross's horn?--Dman dustin 13:32, 4 December 2010 (UTC)
:Exactly, Heracross is not bending it's head, therefore its horn should be pointing straight up, not bent backwards. If you take a HD quality view of the episode and enlarge it, you can clearly see the horn cuts off at a straight line, it's a mistake. --HoennMaster 17:20, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

In any case, this DOES confirm the presence of Ash's Bayleef, Snorlax, Totodile, and Corphish in this episode, as well as either Ash's or Dawn's Cyndaquil and a Quilava. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 17:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
The reason why it's not Dawn's is because Dawn's Cyndaquil is confirmed to be in Movie 13 (due to the movie Merchandise) with the last DP movies, why screw up now? --Dman dustin 17:36, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Ok, that's it. I think further conversation should be taken to the forums because this discussion is taking a shape of a forumish dispute rather than article discussion itself. Thank you. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 19:55, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
This whole "Dawn's Cyndaquil movie 13 merchandise" thing could be another instance along the lines of Ash's Treecko appearing on early posters for movie 7. What evolution stage was that Pokémon in in the movie itself? That's right, Grovyle.
If it weren't for the fact that there's absolutely no reason that Dawn's Piplup shouldn't already be an Empoleon (in fact, amongst it, Ash's Turtwig, and Ash's Chimchar, it should have been the first to evolve to second stage, like its contemporary was the first of its in-group trio to evolve; why the writers had to alienate 100% of the fanbase with that Everstone, nobody'll understand), since that damn penguin desperately needs to evolve and do ASAP (it's been a Piplup more than 100 episodes too long), I might have been wagering that the Quilava was Dawn's.
In any instance, it's entirely possible that the Quilava could be wild or belong to a COTD. That Quilava doesn't look to be in a group shot, which leaves way too many distinct possibilities open. My on this matter: That image is inconclusive. Absolutely nothing should be assumed before showtime. If it weren't for the fact that I've been on probation for about a month, I'd've protected all the articles involved already just so the gun-jumpers couldn't get to them...- unsigned comment from Shiningpikablu252 (talkcontribs)
Your probation has long been over and I, for one, don't want Piplup to evolve. Please don't go around claiming that 100% of the fanbase wants Piplup to evolve, because it's absolutely not true.
