Audio limitations

I'm curious. Exactly how would audio limitations prevent this move from being Sketched? ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 02:03, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

No idea. --ニョロトノ666 02:04, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
Maybe they can't copy the exact same noise. tc26 02:08, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
I was thinking that the move itself would be Sketched, not its sound effect... But for some reason, Sketch won't work. ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 14:31, 4 June 2008 (UTC)
It could be that there is only one "slot" for the sound to be recorded on, and if Chatter was sketched from another user, it would erase over the data. Instead of trying to fix this when a pokemon learns chatter, they probably just disabled it instead.--Dragonite42 05:05, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
That can't be it because more than on chatot can have different sounds.--Mtn otter We are the Void 00:18, 17 October 2009 (UTC)

Pokemon Battle Revolution

How does this move work in PBR as it requires speaking into the DS Mic, something that can't be done on a Wii. Gligar 21:07, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Using the microphone isn't required. You can change the recording used for the attack outside of battle, and only if you wish to do so. The Wii not having a microphone doesn't stop the attack from being usable.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 01:13, 28 September 2008 (UTC)
A bit old, but, since the volume changes the chance of confusing, what chance of confusing does Chatter have on PBR? The Dark Fiddler - Smarter than the average bear! 23:50, 18 November 2008 (UTC)

Just to clarify (regarding my removal of a piece of trivia)

The reason I removed the trivia piece about Chatter causing Chatot to be banned from the Global Union is because there's no reason to assume this. It's not like Nintendo could've been worried about foul language, because as the article already states, Chatter distorts anything you record with it. I was going to put this in the edit summary, but in the midst of correcting a typo, I accidentially hit "enter" and it submitted the edit. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 18:59, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

However, Chatter is the only thing that makes Chatot unique. It's not like Nintendo would accidentally ban a Pokémon that can say bad words.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 19:25, 24 May 2011 (UTC)

Normal Cry Chance of Confusion

When Chatter is used with Chatot's normal cry, does this go by the medium volume? --FiMbUlWiNtEr2O|2 01:50, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

Pokestar Studios

I believe it may be possible B2W2 changed some mechanics of this move may have changed mainly its status as "unsketchable". Due to it being known by one of the Pokestar Studios pokemon. --Azurillglow2mlw7 23:12, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
This probably should be looked into, but note that the Pokémon that knows the move isn't actually a Pokémon. Therefore none of the moves it knows would be legitimately available given it isn't actually a Pokémon. This would also apply to the other Pokémon that aren't actually Pokémon.
