Steel type

If its not a posoin type move it should be able to poison steel pokemon--DCM_{((Shut the **** upSpy on My Edits))}

Actually, Twineedle has been known to poison Steel-types, at least in Generation II (although the chances it was changed for later generations is highly unlikely...). Being a Bug-type move, it's the only known move that can inflict poison anywhere that isn't of the Poison-type (which Steel is immune to), hence it can poison a Steel-type. --Shiningpikablu252 18:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

The questions is if it still poisons, or if steel types are now immune. Also, Poison Point or something like that inflicts poison as an ability. I should make a multi-hit and Twineedle test team (when I get the time) to check some things that are uncertain. Gywall 18:40, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Should correct

Defense Column

Shuckle, Forretress, Crustle, Durant, Escavalier, Vespiqueen, Pinsir, Scizor, Armaldo. There are 9 Bug-type Pokémon with a defense stat of 100 or more, and Bug-type Pokémon have higher defense than special defense on average, yet the Bug-type "Defense" column consistently focuses on how low their defense stat is; in fact, their "low defense" is the only real reason given for Bugs to be defensively-flawed, which is preposterous. Well, it does talk about Bug/Flying-types' double weakness to rock, but that's only relevant to 19% of all Bug-types.

I'm honestly only an intermediate-level Pokémon player, so I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, but it seems as though the "Defense" portion of the Bug-type page is seriously outdated, to the point of blatantly irrelevant information. Someone with more experience/knowledge then me really needs to completely rewrite this column, and soon. Gridelin Glass 19:19, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

Psychic-types that take neutral damage from Bug-type moves are pretty rare

I removed the "(which are fairly common)" qualifier at the end of that part in the Offense section. Though six types resist Bug (Flying, Ghost, Fire, Steel, Poison, and Fighting), there are only a few Psychic-type Pokémon that take neutral damage from Bug-type moves: Lugia, Xatu, Sigilyph, Swoobat, Victini, Zen Mode Darmanitan, Metagross, Bronzong, Jirachi, Gallade and Medicham. Counting the pre-evolved types there are 17 total (Natu, Woobat, Beldum, Metang, Bronzor and Meditite), which is exactly ¼ of the 68 total Psychic-type Pokémon.

And of this 17, only 3-5 of them can fairly be considered common no matter what mode of play is being considered: Metagross, Bronzong, Gallade, and Medicham and Jirachi in order of relative relevance. While competitive standard play now allows Jirachi, no official Nintendo format or in-game mode has, which goes as well for Victini and especially Lugia. NFE Pokémon are by default not common, Zen Mode Darmanitan is only possible with a less-than-ideal HP percentage (especially for a slow Fire-type weak to Stealth Rock) and Xatu/Sigilyph/Swoobat are all rather uncommon in any mode of play.
