== Inconsistency on STAB information ==
It seems there's some conflicting information concerning STAB in each Generation. The Gen IV passage states "Beat Up skips the randomization factor, but does apply same-type attack bonus for Dark-type Pokémon.", while the learn by level up list says "No STAB prior to Gen V". Furthermore, the Gen V passage says "Beat Up now receives STAB from Dark-type users and no longer deals typeless damage." There really seems to be a mix up somewhere in here, and may need some fixing. STAB

Is STAB applied to all of the Party Pokemon or just the User? TESHTALKSAND 15:21, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

OK

I don't want to be blocked for "counter-productive edit warring", so I'm going to talk here. The reason I don't think we need a redirect template at the page is because if someone was to type in Beat Up, looking for the TCG thing, they would be brought to the disambig, where they could just click on the link to the page they want and will end up there fine.--Toxic ICE (User:Cold)(page, talk) 09:30, 3 October 2009 (UTC)

STAB

Is it still intact in Generation V? If so, then... ht14 00:35, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

Breeding

So yeah.. Seedot isn't included in the Breeding section at ALL. I only noticed when i saw it can be used for chain breeding with a Cottonee but there was no method listed for actually obtaining a Seedot with Beat Up. I tried sticking Seedot into the code for that section and it went pretty badly, of course I only previewed it but Girafarig's data went real screwy for no reason )I had'nt touched it at all) and the father sprites became listed vertically instead of horizontally which made the table HUGE. Also I noticed that no Pokémon include Weavile in this table as a suitable parent in Gen IV/V, even thought it does mention Weavile on most of their respective pages.

Basically i was wondering, could someone who knows what they're doing better than I do try fixing this? Oshawhat? 22:12, 5 July 2011 (UTC)

" based solely on the user's base attack"

Yeah... Unless that Sneasel got 5 critical hits, that can't be true - in the animation 3rd hit deals clearly less damage than other five. Marked +-+-+ (talk) 07:24, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

"Beat Up ignores changes to stat levels such as Swords Dance"

I originally wasn't going to use Beat Up because of this, but I kept it on my Weavile because it's a devastating combo with Razor Fang. Anyway, this is simply not true. When I use Beat Up on Shauntal's Jellicent with my Lv80+ Weavile, it takes about 3-4 hits to KO it with Beat Up, giving each hit a chance to trigger Cursed Body. If I soft reset the game and try it again, with the same Pokemon lineup in my party, but I Swords Dance first, it KOs the Jellicent in 1-2 hits. I even noticed, after using Swords Dance, it doubles the damage on her Cofagrigus and cuts the number of hits needed to KO it in half, as opposed to just opening up with Beat Up. - unsigned comment from Shinku no Yami (talkcontribs)

I can corroborate this, at least for Gen VI (Omega Ruby.) I played a trainer battle using Beat Up with a Seedot against a trainer who used multiples of the same Pokemon at the same level.
