"Cuts"

You do mean "Guts" and not "Cuts", right? - unsigned comment from Blackjack Gabbiani (talkcontribs)

Anime locations

Should the anime locations for the Battle Frontier facilities be included here? Goldchaos 15:04, 8 December 2005 (CST)

Go ahead, if you wish. (Feel free to make a whole In the anime section.) - 振霖T 08:07, 12 December 2005 (CST)

Okay, so now...

Since there's the one in Sinnoh...

Should we have Battle Frontier (Kanto) redirect here, or just make the entire anime section the Kanto article? TTEchidna 00:09, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I personally believe the new one in Sinnoh will be in Johto in the anime, because that is the only region they haven't visited recently, also the games and anime are linked so a visit from the anime, could mean a visit from the games. However if you were to have Battle Frontier (Kanto) re-direct here, im sure some users would say "well what if the new one is in Kanto as well" or "what if the games decide to make a game where Kanto has its own Battle Frontier," meaning you'd need that page for an article. Not my views, Im just saying what I think others will say. So maybe there shouldn't be a redirect from Battle Frontier (Kanto). Thankyou for your time. Guardian of Earth |SGMS 2010 10:00, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
-ack, can't resist- Why not Battle Frontier (Gen III) and (Gen IV)? {{SUBST::User:Optimus35/sig/substitute page}}

What are you talking about? There is no article title Battle Frontier (Kanto).

----HoennMaster 04:54, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

In the anime, the Hoenn Battle Frontier's location is set in Kanto. - s.Combusken 04:55, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
We can't have a seperate Kanto article. It's the same brains and all... The "Gen III", "Gen IV" idea sounds good... --electAbuzzzz (TALK) 08:53, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

I realize they are the same, but everyone is referring to it as a different article.

----HoennMaster 13:34, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, the Kanto (anime) and Hoenn (game) ones are the same brains and same arenas, but they're vastly different as far as geography. Either way, I've redirected the Kanto one here until which point there's a future game with a Battle Frontier in Kanto or someone decides to split the Hoenn (game) one from the Kanto (anime) one. TTEchidna 18:56, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

Item sprites

Well, we don't seem to have the sprites for the posters and Poké Dolls (if we do I have no idea where they'd be). Additionally, the sprites for the items are off center... and I don't understand why. TTEchidna 19:36, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

I can put them up if I get permission from an admin.Quadzar 18:33, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Brains

If you lose to a frontier brain does that mean it is impossible to get the symbol of the brain or do a rematch? Atomix26 01:42, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Nah, you just have to fufill the conditions again before you can challenge them a second time. For instance, in the Battle Factory if you lose to Noland the first time, you have to beat ANOTHER 21 trainers to get a second shot at the Knowledge Symbol :P Gastly's mama 20:16, 23 November 2008 (UTC) Gastly's Mama

Battle Arena

In the battle arena, when a Pokemon is on red HP (0%<HP<25%) and then is defeated on a judge's decision, the alarm bell continues ringing when the next pokemon is sent out. This could have something to do with the fact that it isn't really defeated, but I don't know. Could this be put in trivia or something? Gastly's mama 21:05, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Likely a glitch in the programming. In DP, if your Pokémon gets leveled up in a wild battle and its HP is red, the alarm bell comes back. TTEchidna 04:01, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Movesets

Don't know if this is the right place to bring this up, but I couldn't think of a better place. Basically, I've noticed that in the Battle Frontier each Pokemon species seems to have a specific moveset. For example, every Clamperl has Toxic, Dive, Iron Defense and Double Team. I was just wondering if it'd be worth attempting to note down each Pokemon's Battle Frontier movesets on their individual pages, it might be a useful piece of information. Gastlys mama 12:55, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

Another question I made in the Focus Punch page, but no one answered... In Battle Pyramid there are wild Brelooms that use Focus Punch without charging first... how is that possible? (even though Breloom has not Inner Focus as ability) hfc2X 05:39, 19 February 2009 (UTC)

Good Trivia?

I think the reason the Battle Frontier is in Kanto might be a reference to FireRed and LeafGreen, because they were made beofe Emerald (which introduced the Battle Frontier). Does anyone else think so? --Mr.lol 01:45, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, that's why they done it. The anime follows the events of the games, so they just killed 2 birds with 1 stone. hfc2X 21:59, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Different pages

Should the different facilities have their own pages?--Pokemonguy1 23:04, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

I say yes. This page should be a disambiguation page. Quadzar 18:33, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

IV tester

There is an IV tester in a house directly on top of the PM Center in the Battle Frontier. I still don't see any information about him, can anyone add the dialogue of the IV tester? This is a fairly important NPC of the game. I posted similar stuff in the talk page of Battle Tower (Sinnoh). --Fromia 17:36, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Is that in Gen. IV? If so, it should stay off this page, because this is Gen. III. Otherwise, you should add something.Red is not Ash. (Quadzar) 19:03, 29 November 2011 (UTC)

Battle Pyramid Question

On the page, it states the different wild pokémon themes from one to twenty. However, I was wondering what would happen if you went through for a twenty-first run. Would it loop back to the beginning, or has no-one simply gotten this far yet? Either way, I think this needs to be noted in the article, even though it is completely optional, as you would have the Gold Symbol by this point. --Choatix 18:54, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

It does go back to the beginning, as far as I know. ht14 03:46, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

Featured Article?

Yes, I do think this article is deserving of such. It has tons of info and a lot of great pictures. :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 23:43, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Oops! Sorry! :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 13:26, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

The article definitely deserves a featured article status. It is just as good and better than Oak's lab.(Pak dragons 08:00, 11 May 2011 (UTC))

I'll address you to the link Werdnae already posted, that's where you could add your opinion on the featured status of this article. Masatoshitalk 08:16, 11 May 2011 (UTC)

Palace?

I beat 21 matches in the palace and the guy never showed up. Is the information off? Does it have to strictly be in the single battle? I got to 21 fights in double battle... Nokota 21:22, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Splitting the article

Why is no one speaking about this? Well I am just going talk pages at the moment =3, lots of people finished the articles I want to help on already. Well, I would personally split it up. Since it's one article, it can't give all the detail it can possibly have the potential to. For example, if we are talking about one of the facilities, we can't give detailed information if it plays a huge part somewhere. Info about what it does in the game, the anime, and the manga. We can't all give that while it's in one big article. But at the same time, it is being nominated for Featured Article, it has for a while. But my mind rests on splitting the areas, and I'll gladly help build these newly built articles, if existent. Chocos0 05:14, 24 October 2011 (UTC)

I think they should keep this article but also make the others.--Supermon 21:50, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

I agree, this thing's huge. Between the games, the anime, and the manga, I'm pretty sure each battle facility has more than enough about it to warrant separate articles. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 23:39, 27 November 2011 (UTC)
I do also agree. There are large amounts of info omited that could be included if these were individual articles. Like Supermon said, this article should be kept but with only brief information, and the detailed and more in-depth info should be placed into the individual articles. hfc2X 03:47, 10 December 2011 (UTC)
More debate here, if anyone is interested. In case nobody figured this out from that or the fact that I suggested the split, I'm in favor of it. --SnorlaxMonster 17:33, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
I agree with all of you, we should split battle locations and put them all seperately. - unsigned comment from MrMarpinjo62 (talkcontribs)

I agree on the point that the article is huge and would benefit from a downsizing. However I don't think we need to delete the article as a whole. Maybe we can make it so the article gives a general overview of the Frontier and an overview of each building, with a link to their own pages.

Wait...

If the voting is closed howcome the page is(or isn't) a featured article???????--Supermon 00:09, 9 December 2011 (UTC)

Because the staff is very slow when it comes to featured articles. In fact, the whole system is pretty much defunct. --SnorlaxMonster 17:33, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

Map Mistake

Hey,

Did anyone who's played Emerald/Ruby/Sapphire notice that in the infobox for the Battle Frontier, in the Hoenn Map, Battle Frontier is misplaced (it should be slightly to the island on the right)?

Alebcay 16:39, 2 January 2012 (UTC)alebcay

Seems like the right place on my game. --SnorlaxMonster 17:33, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Oh well. Must be me then. Alebcay 20:04, 2 January 2012 (UTC)alebcay

Splitting suggestion

Rather than splitting it, there should be made a special page for each one, then the link to each's page should be put on this page under each frontier's name.

Ex ===History===
Main article: Battle Tower

----DJWolfy 09:04, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

That's what the split notice is requesting. Making pages for each of the facilities, but still keeping this page. --SnorlaxMonster 09:18, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Oh I thought without keeping the page. But how much time does a decision needs to be implemented ? I mean several months past since the proposal was made.----DJWolfy 09:28, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Funny thing about that: things that get tagged with move/split/merge/delete tend to get left to discussion for a while. In my experience, the best way to actually get something to happen is to create pages in the userspace, say "look everyone I've made a draft", wait about a week and pretty much everyone says "yeah, that's great" (occasionally they have minor changes), then move and implement it. In fact, I'm currently doing that in regards to events (reorganizing the entire event structure and putting detailed descriptions of each event, not just the Pokémon itself), but saving them all as .txts on my computer until I've done them all. --SnorlaxMonster 09:51, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Well I know that you admins do your job, but why don't you have a separate meeting (at least a part of you) and with the opinions on the talk page, decide what should be done ? I mean, there aren't so many candidates for deletion. The same thing happened to the awards. None has been given since 2011, and is that kind of motivation what an user needs. But it's just my opinion.----DJWolfy 10:14, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
That's pretty much this thread. There's also a constant AIM chat that I will usually bring up stuff I ready to deal with on for opinions. There is supposed to be a new system for giving out awards, but I don't even know what it is, and I don't know when they're planning to put it in use. --SnorlaxMonster 10:32, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Uhm, I'm not really a fan of the forums, but it is a good way of making decision though.----DJWolfy 10:36, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
A deadline should be given to these matters, the split/merge/delete tags on top of pages after a while make them seem forgotten or something... Hoping this topic didn't complete six months yet, my opinion is that this page should have been split ages ago, but there should be only 1 Battle Tower and 1 Battle Factory pages, since the mechanics are almost the same and comparison between Generations should be made within their own articles. |) u |( e ® 22:29, 3 September 2012 (UTC)
It's unfortunate that these split/merge matters tend to remain for a long time without any resolution occurring... It's even more discouraging when the "six-month time limit for responses" is up, as the discussion becomes somewhat outdated and opinions may have changed since then, all without much headway/progress being made. I usually check talk pages more than the forums, though.. Anyway, my own opinion is that the Battle Frontier article for Generation 3 should be split into subpages while preserving this page as well. I agree with how there should only be one Battle Tower page and Battle Factory page to cover the facilities for both Hoenn and Sinnoh, as their mechanics do not seem to change much. Murky issues crop up with the Battle Tower, though, since the Crystal, Ruby/Sapphire, Emerald, Diamond/Pearl, and Platinum/HeartGold/SoulSilver buildings are technically all different entities (not to speak of the ones present in the anime); I'm even getting a bit confused keeping track of all these Battle Towers and their relations to one another.. But yeah, this page is getting somewhat long, though I think a split-and-preserve action would be very beneficial. Fenyx4 (talk) 14:55, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Since discussion on this hasn't really gotten anywhere, I took the initiative to work on an example of what a page for this would look like [1]. It's only for Gen III right now, but I can also whip up an example for what a page for all of the Battle Towers look like. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 19:49, 29 March 2013 (UTC)

Just so people know, there is virtually no opposition to the idea, and if we get all the necessary new pages ready in the userspace, then it I'll be able to split this page up. I just don't have the time to make all the necessary pages at the moment, but if other people want to then we can make progress. --SnorlaxMonster 02:36, 4 May 2013 (UTC)

Battle Arena - Judge's Decision, 'Body' Round

Seeing as I just remembered this issue, has anyone else had issues with the judge's/referee's decision (mostly concerning Body, which pertains to Hit Points)? "Mind" is somewhat straightforward (you get the maximum amount by attacking on all 3 turns prior to judgment), and I would presume that "Skill" has some degree of flexibility (for lack of a better word) on how it is calculated, but I would think "Body" should be the simplest one to calculate - whichever Pokémon has the better remainder/percentage/fraction/ratio of HP remaining (for example, 67% HP remaining trumps 30% HP remaining, while 50% HP left on both sides would tie). However, on occasion, I've encountered situations where I've clearly had more HP than the opponent on the "Body" round of judging (sometimes HP is the main factor in my loss; sometimes not) yet I still "lose" the "Body" round. Similarly, the same issue has worked in my favor sometimes where the computer seemingly has more HP left than my Pokémon, yet I still manage to somehow win the "Body" round. This occurrence made me suspect that the "Body" round calculation might be based on a Pokémon's base HP stat (like how Blissey has phenomenally more HP than, say, a Sunkern); it most recently happened when I was facing a foe's Blissey, so I was a bit puzzled. My Emerald cartridge is not externally modified in any way by cheats (Action Replay, GameShark, etc.) or anything similar, so I'm wondering if the aforementioned HP discrepancy could be a glitch of some sort in the programming. If it counts for anything, the internal battery is also still functional, though I think it'll have no bearing on the matter at hand.

If I ever manage to get a video of said incident occurring, I will attempt to do so. Until then, I invite other players of Emerald Version to keep a look-out to see if they encounter a similar issue like mine during the "Body Round" of Battle Arena battle decisions/judgments, or to hopefully discuss the matter here if someone has encountered it before. Thanks in advance. Fenyx4 (talk) 16:34, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Battle Frontier Facilities order

Shouldn't the order of the Facilities be like in the Frontier Pass? Like there the Battle Pyramid is the last one of the list while here in Bulbapedia it is the fourth from above or the Battle Dome is the second of the Frontier Pass list but here it is fifth from above. Ignisverus

In the anime

I've been mildly grumpy about the Anime Pokemon listings that have (relatively) recently been added to things like Gym pages, but I've told myself that this wiki isn't dedicated to the games exclusively. Now they're added here, and this time I think it's worse...

On the Gym pages (like Pewter Gym, the Anime section and its Pokemon listings at least come after all the game stuff, so you don't get interrupted by it if you're just looking for game info. But on this page, the Anime sections come in the middle of all the game stuff, and while it was alright when they were mostly text, now that those Pokemon listings have been added, I think it becomes too big of an interruption.

Can we just move all the anime stuff into one section that comes after all the game stuff (and before the Manga section) or something? (Alternatively, this would also be solved if each of the facilities were on their own page.) Tiddlywinks (talk) 17:51, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
