You might wanna add Dragon Pulse to that list. ;) --Oz 09:52, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Let's get the moves right

From my knowlege of watching the episodes

Gible can use Rockthrow, Draco Meteor, Dragon Pulse, Dig, and Slash

Gible I believe can not use rock smash this could just be Gible using Slash on rocks or hitting a rock but it can't use rock smash

Forgive me if I'm wrong I'm new to Bulbapedia - unsigned comment from Gotpika (talkcontribs)

Throwing one rock doesn't mean it can use Rock Throw. --HoennMaster 08:43, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually, Gible can use Rock Smash. It learns it by HM. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 16:29, 25 December 2009 (UTC)

Second with an HM?

It says that Gible is the second to use an HM after Grotle with Rock Climb but what about Lapras with Surf? And I'm sure there have been others.--Lycos Ex Mortis 22:34, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

According to Ash's Lapras' article, it never used Surf. -Sketch 22:36, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
It may not say it but I'm currently watching the Orange Islands series and it appears to know Surf cause it rides over the water which is what Surf does.--Lycos Ex Mortis 22:46, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
A lot of Pokémon go in the water. That doesn't mean they know surf. -Sketch 22:49, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
They go in the water yes but they don't go on the top of the water with humans riding them much like surf. Also Pidgeot appears to know Fly since it carried Ash on its back a trait of Fly. Though even if Gible in the game can learn Rock smash it doesn't mean that it knows it in the anime. IIRC Ash's Bulbasaur has cut down some bushes in the anime but was using Razor Leaf not cut so its possible Gible was using a different attack unless Ash actually said "Gible use Rock smash"--Lycos Ex Mortis 22:58, 6 March 2010 (UTC)
Why does this conversation about Surf keep coming back? It's stupid... of course the Pokémon swim with a human riding them. They can't swim underwater without having to come up every 30 seconds or so so the human can breathe. Ash has used Squirtle to travel short distances (and in M01 it was long distance in a storm), Misty has used various Water types, and so many others have done the same thing. It's not surf. It's something called "swimming". Just like with Fly. You don't get on a bird to have it walk you around, unless it's a Doduo or Dodrio. That's what wings are for. Flying. R.A. Then what about all the ones using moves that work like HM's but aren't? For all you know Gible could have just used another attack or it could have just whacked the rock. There are many different explanations of it.--Lycos Ex Mortis 10:36, 8 March 2010 (UTC)
I believe Ash actually commanded Gible to use Rock Smash. --ケンジガール 10:42, 8 March 2010 (UTC)

3rd Pokemon who's gender is confirmed?

It say Gible is Ash's 3rd Pokemon with a confirmed gender, the first 2 were Tauros and Buizel. What about Pikachu? Wasn't he confirmed to be male long before Gible is caught? Theres so much evidence that Pikachu is male.SeanWheeler 23:11, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

It says before it was caught, meaning the Pokémon in question. So in Pikachu's case it would be when Pikachu was given to Ash. Pikachu's gender wasn't known until over 600 episodes after it was caught. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 23:29, 16 April 2010 (UTC)

Ash's Gible's English voice actor?

It sounds like the voice actor of Gible is similar to the voice of Bibarel. So if anyone knows the voice actor of Bibarel that means it will be the voice of Gible as well. - unsigned comment from Shapps07 (talkcontribs)

According to the episode article, Bibarel's dub VA was Tom Wayland. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 11:59, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Gible's VA sounds like Billy Beach to me. When Meowth did his fantasy, and did his impression of Gible, it sounded awful close--just Meowth-like.--Skulblaka Shurtugal 23:53, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

And Torterra

This: "Gible is Ash's second Ground-type Pokémon with a second type to its species. The first was Ash's Gliscor. Gible also replaces Gliscor in the sixth slot of Ash's party. Also, they both have a double weakness to the Ice-type. " Should be updated, or at least I think so, it should go like this: "Gible is Ash's second Ground-type Pokémon with a second type to its species. The first was Ash's Gliscor and the third was Ash's Torterra. Gible also replaces Gliscor in the sixth slot of Ash's party. Also, they all have a double weakness to the Ice-type." Or if you want to consider the order of capture, despite turtwig and grotle not being ground type, then torterra is first, then gliscor and finally gible. Luord 04:56, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

It's fine the way it is. It's only referring to Gliscor's relationship to Gible. --ケンジガール 04:58, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I think the trivia needs to be removed because saying "second Ground-type Pokémon with a second type to its species" is somewhat contrived. If you want to have the relationship mentioned, you could simply state that it replaces Gliscor, which was also of the Ground-type. —darklordtrom 05:00, 16 May 2010 (UTC)
