Tabitha (Japanese: ホムラ Homura) is one of the Admins of Team Magma.

In the games

Tabitha plays a key role in the main story in Pokémon Ruby and its remake Pokémon Omega Ruby as an Admin to the main villainous team, Team Magma. His appearances in the corresponding games Pokémon Sapphire and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are limited to minor appearances, as Team Aqua are the main villains of these games.

In Pokémon Ruby Tabitha steals the Meteorite from Professor Cozmo at Meteor Falls, and brings it to Maxie at Mt. Chimney. At Mt. Chimney, the player has to battle him before they can battle Maxie, and stop his attempts to erupt the volcano. He is next encountered at Slateport City assisting Maxie in stealing the Submarine Explorer 1 in order to descend to Seafloor Cavern. He is confronted by the player at the end of the Magma Hideout outside Lilycove City, battling the player so that the submarine can make its escape. In Pokémon Sapphire, Aqua Admin Matt fulfils the same role.

In Pokémon Emerald, despite both villainous teams feature in the story, Tabitha's role in very similar to that in Pokémon Ruby, stealing the Meteorite in Meteor Falls and delivering it to Maxie at Mt. Chimney. He then encounters the player at the new hideout inside the volcano, battling the player before Maxie awakens Groudon. He then appears later at the Mossdeep Space Center assisting Maxie in the tag battle against the player and Steven Stone.

In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Tabitha's design is overhauled and his back story expanded. It is revealed in the Team Magma Hideout in Pokémon Omega Ruby that Tabitha used to work for Devon Corporation. In the special demo version he is encountered arguing with Aqua Admin Matt before battling with Matt against the player and Steven Stone in a tag battle.

In the Pokémon Omega Ruby story, Tabitha initially performs the same role as in Pokémon Ruby, however instead he is battled by the player and May/Brendan in Meteor Falls. After Mt. Chimney he is encountered next at the Weather Institute attempting to steal the weather Pokémon. In Ruby this role is fulfilled by Courtney but due to her attempting the steal Latios and Latiosite at Southern Island beforehand, Tabitha therefore is the next Admin to battle. After Maxie awakens Groudon at Seafloor Cavern, Tabitha enters the Cavern to express his concern to Maxie about the weather conditions created by Groudon and heads to Sootopolis City with Maxie.

In the Delta Episode, Tabitha is encountered at the Magma Hideout when Zinnia defeats Maxie and takes his Key Stone. Tabitha then begrudgingly gifts Cameruptite to the player upon Maxie's instructions, as Maxie can no longer use it to Mega Evolve.

In these games, Tabitha is shown to be loyal to Maxie. He is also shown to throw occasional tantrums when things do not go the way he desires. His role in Pokémon Omega Ruby is fulfilled in Pokémon Alpha Sapphire by Aqua Admin Shelly.

In the anime

Tabitha in the anime

Although the Generation III games show there to be at least two Magma Admins, only Tabitha ever appeared in the anime. His first appearance was in A Three-Team Scheme!, where he led a group of Magma grunts in an exploration of some ancient ruins on Dewford Island in search of the Cave of Origin. They also had a confrontation with Team Aqua. Due to a dubbing error, he was mistakenly referred to as "Field Commander Harlan" during this episode, though his name was corrected in all subsequent appearances.

Tabitha appeared again in The Spheal of Approval. He and two Magma grunts broke into the Oceanic Museum in order to steal a rock sample owned by Captain Stern. Although Ash and his friends attempted to stop them, Team Magma successfully made off with most of the sample.

In Fight for the Meteorite!, Tabitha led a squad of Magma grunts on a mission to Mt. Chimney, first stealing a meteorite from Professor Cozmo and then using it to power an experimental machine affecting the volcano. However, their plans were ultimately thwarted by Ash and Cozmo.

His final appearance was in Gaining Groudon and The Scuffle of Legends. His submarine accidentally picked up Ash and his friends while out on patrol, bringing them to Team Magma's base. He was present for the battle between Kyogre and Groudon, and like the rest of Team Magma, has not been seen since.

Tabitha uses this Mightyena as a part of Team Magma as Mightyena are their Pokémon as well. It is shown to be very strong as it was able to take out many opponents as in Jessie's Seviper and was able to knock the briefcase off of Ash's grip that contained a special stone. Its final appearances were in Gaining Groudon and The Scuffle of Legends.

Mightyena's known moves are Tackle, Iron Tail, Shadow Ball, Double Team and Hyper Beam.

Tabitha

Tabitha, known as Mitch in the Chuang Yi translation, is one of the Three Fires—Admins of Team Magma—along with Courtney and Blaise.

Like all of the Three Fires, Tabitha has a special lighter that can transmit and record images by burning them on paper.

Tabitha's specialty is direct, using his Torkoal's smoke to hypnotize and poison.

Ruby and Sapphire were traveling along Route 107 when they encountered Courtney and Tabitha. The two Magma Admins were trying to steal a deep sea scanner from the wreckage of the Abandoned Ship.

Later, Team Aqua used the meteorite to cause Mt. Chimney to cease its activity. Sapphire and Flannery tried to prevent this but failed. Tabitha and Flannery cooperated to destroy Team Aqua's machine, but they were unable to re-start the volcano. However, this incident would later cause Flannery to side with Team Magma when the Gym Leaders of Hoenn wanted to choose sides.

Tabitha losing his mind

When Maxie attempted to control both Groudon and Kyogre through the Red and Blue Orbs (which Blaise stole for him conveniently before Team Aqua made an alliance with Team Magma), he discovered that it would be too much for his mental capacities to handle. Therefore he handed the Blue Orb to Tabitha, telling him to suppress Kyogre's will of battling. However, one of the Aqua Admins, Amber, managed to get the orb to Archie, who then abandoned the loyal minion.

But this event left a residue effect on Tabitha, as Wallace found out during their battle in the Lilycove Department Store, which he lost horribly. Even though Tabitha had only touched the orb for a short period, Kyogre's influence still managed to slip through since he did attempt to control the sea titan, causing him to go out of his mind and rampage upon the former champion. Steven managed to knock him out with his Metagross's Meteor Mash when he attacked Wallace wildly.

He, along with most other Team Magma and Aqua members, appears to have disappeared after the Groudon and Kyogre incident, though Flannery has spotted him in a crowd in Lavaridge Town once, ready to bathe in the revived springs.

Tabitha's Torkoal
Torkoal
Torkoal is Tabitha's main Pokémon. It is notably used to use its smoke to hypnotize and poison anyone. He first used it to attack Plusle and Minun. It was about to defeat them until Ruby gives them his diary. He does this by telling them to give up the Cheering Pokémon. The diary Ruby gives them turns out to be a distraction for Team Magma so that they could get hit by Plusle and Minun's attacks. Torkoal was used again when Team Magma raided the Slateport City Contest and kidnapped Ruby and the President of the Fan Club. Later, Tabitha used it to battle Amber's Volbeat after he interfered with a Tail Glow attack. It defeated the Volbeat by putting it to sleep.

Torkoal's known moves are Yawn, Heat Wave and Smog, and its Ability is White Smoke.

Swellow is Tabitha's use of flight transportation. It debuted along with Courtney's Swellow while looking for the Abandoned Ship.

  • Tabitha, like Shelly, has been the subject of two name changes over two mediums: Harlan in the anime and Mitch in the Chuang Yi translation of Pokémon Adventures.
