Swallow (Japanese: のみこむ Swallow) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation III. The Pokémon who are able to learn this move are also able to learn the related moves Stockpile and/or Spit Up, with the exception of Munchlax, Trubbish, and Garbodor.

Effect

Generation III

This move will fail if the user has not used Stockpile.

Swallow will recover the user's HP depending on the amount of times the user has used Stockpile.

  • One Stockpile → 25% of the user's maximum HP
  • Two Stockpiles → 50% of the user's maximum HP
  • Three Stockpiles → 100% of the user's maximum HP

Generation IV

In addition to before, Swallow also removes any Defense and Special Defense boosts gained through Stockpile. However, it simply will say the effect wore off without showing stat changing, unlike Stockpile.

Generation V

The boost removal is now shown as stat drops.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon

Swallow restores 20HP for one Stockpile, 40HP after two Stockpiles, and 80HP after three Stockpiles.

Description

Games Description
RSE Absorbs stockpiled power and restores HP.
FRLG The energy it built using Stockpile is absorbed to restore HP.
The power stored using the move Stockpile is absorbed by the user to heal its HP.

The power stored using the move Stockpile is absorbed by the user to heal its HP. Storing more power heals more HP.
