The Sun & Moon Starter Set (Japanese: スターターセット) is the second release of cards in the Japanese Sun & Moon Era of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It features the three final evolutions of the three Alola starter Pokémon, and will be made available on December 9, 2016 alongside the release of the Collection Sun & Moon.
Information
Featuring the three Alola region starter Pokémon, the Sun & Moon Starter Set Decks are a trio of Theme Decks each released separately in Japan. Released on December 9, 2016, the Decidueye-GX Starter Set Grass (Japanese: スターターセット草 ジュナイパーGX), Incineroar-GX Starter Set Fire (Japanese: スターターセット炎 ガオガエンGX), and Primarina-GX Starter Set Water (Japanese: スターターセット水 アシレーヌGX) each include a rulebook, damage counters, status counters, a custom coin, playmat.
Each Starter Set contains a random collection of the 59 included cards, with each deck containing 2 of the titular Pokémon-GX. A special Sun & Moon GX Starter Set will be made available exclusively at Toys R Us in Japan on the same day. This deluxe version contains the three Theme Decks as well as exclusive Pikachu and Mimikyu SM-P Promotional cards.
