Sticky Hold (Japanese: ねんちゃく Adhesion) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Eight Pokémon have this Ability.
Effect
In battle
This Ability prevents the user's held item from being taken by Covet or Thief, traded by Trick or Switcheroo, eaten by Bug Bite or Pluck, or removed by Knock Off.
Outside of battle
From Pokémon Emerald onwards, if a Pokémon with Sticky Hold is in the first place in the party, bites will occur more often while fishing. Suction Cups does the same thing on the field.
