Stardust (Japanese: ほしのすな Star Sand) is a type of currency in Pokémon GO. It can be used to Power Up Pokémon.
Obtaining Stardust
There are several ways to earn Stardust:
- Catching a Pokémon gives the player 100 Stardust.
- Hatching a Pokémon from an Egg gives the player some Stardust. The amount of Stardust obtained varies.
- The Defender bonus gives the player 500 Stardust for each Gym they control (up to 10 Gyms).
Power Up costs
- Main article: Power Up → Costs
Powering Up a Pokémon requires both Stardust and Candy, the amount required increasing with the Pokémon's current Power Up level (which increases every time it is powered up). The amount of Stardust and Candy required for the next Power Up will be shown on the Pokémon's summary screen.
