Spencer Hale ((firstname) Shurii in Japanese) is a researcher from the town of Greenfield. He lives in a huge mansion with his unnamed wife and his daughter Molly.
His wife disappeared looking for the Unown, a project he was a part of as well. And one day, as he explored an ancient building with his assistant Skyler, he too vanished into the dimension of the mysterious creatures.
He returned later, as did his wife, after the Unown's influence over Molly ended.
Spencer is good friends with Delia Ketchum, and they were both students of Professor Oak.
