Spear Pillar (Japanese: やりのはしら Spear Pillar) is a location in the Sinnoh region, located atop Mt. Coronet, where Dialga or Palkia can be battled and captured in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, depending on the version. It is also where the player meets the boss of Team Galactic, Cyrus, and faces off against him as well as Mars and Jupiter.
After the defeat or capture of Dialga or Palkia, the Adamant Orb or Lustrous Orb will be able to be found behind where the Pokémon was, respectively.
If the player has the Azure Flute, it will make a whistling noise as soon as the player enters the area from the cave. If the player chooses to blow into it, a staircase will appear that extends up to the Hall of Origin, where Arceus awaits.
Trivia
- The name spear pillar is a reference to the creation myth in Shintō, where the deities Izanagi and Izanami were given the spear 天沼矛 Ame-no-nuboko, with which they created 淤能碁呂島 Onogoroshima, upon which they built the pillar 天御柱 Ame-no-mihashira.
