It is notable for the [[It's a White Tomorrow, Team Rocket!|unique radio drama]] featured in tracks two through four. Tracks one and five are also seen on {{CD|Team Rocket Forever}}, and tracks six and seven are songs from the Game Boy games adapted into lyrical songs (the opening theme of Pokémon Red/Green and the "Surf" theme, respectively).

The title "Sound Picture Box" originates from the large booklet containing illustrations that was included with the CD - the "sound" was the recordings on the CD, the "picture" was the booklet, and the "box" was the large box containing both items. The illustrations showed scenes from the It's a White Tomorrow, Team Rocket! CD Drama, including the only official artwork of [[Mondo]].
