Soak (Japanese: みずびたし Waterlog) is a non-damaging Water-type move introduced in Generation V.

Effect

Generation V

Soak changes the target's type to pure Water; the effect lasts as long as the target is in battle, and changing form or transforming will also remove the effect.

Soak does not affect Pokémon with the Ability Multitype. Soak fails if used on a substitute.

If used on a pure Water-type Pokémon (naturally or via Soak), Soak will act successful and state, "The wild/foe's <Pokémon> transformed into the Water type."

Generation VI

If used on a pure Water-type Pokémon, Soak's animation will still play, but the game will now state that the move has failed.

Description

Games Description

The user shoots a torrent of water at the target and changes the target's type to Water.
