The Sky Pillar (Japanese: そらのはしら Sky Pillar) is a building in Hoenn. It is located on the northern edge of Route 131 in Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, Pokémon Emerald, and Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
On top of the Sky Pillar lies Rayquaza, the highest-leveled wild Pokémon in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.
In Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire, the island on which Sky Pillar is located is blocked off by walls of rocks until the player enters the Hall of Fame. In Pokémon Emerald, the Sky Pillar is accessible earlier in the game since Wallace unlocks the game's added door in order to encounter Rayquaza at the top, as it is needed to abate the conflict in Sootopolis City between Groudon and Kyogre. As a result of this, the wild Pokémon are lower leveled, and less of the floor is cracked. In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the entrance is blocked off by a Furisode Girl until the player talks to Wallace in Sootopolis City during the Delta Episode.
In Generation III, Like many special locations in Hoenn, players must have the Mach Bike in order to navigate through it fully, as there are cracked tiles on 2F and 4F. On every other floor, there are wild Altaria, Banette, Claydol, Dusclops, Golbat, Mawile, and Sableye. In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the player does not need the Mach Bike, and instead climbs up a series of ladders while a extremely tall mural painted by the Draconid People tells the tale of the first Mega Evolution. The Draconids call the top of the tower the Dragonhark altar.
It is also one of the various buildings in the Generation III games where it is possible to run. Not counting gates, it is the only building in the Generation III games where it is possible to use the Bicycle.

In the manga
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Norman and Wally trek up the pillar together. The pillar is a maze which requires both an adult and a child to go through (a child to go through the small tunnels and an adult to pull the heavy chains to open doors in those tunnels). While trekking through the tunnels, Wally realizes that Norman in fact wanted to climb up the pillar with his son, Ruby.
The Sky Pillar has 50 floors with a wild Dusclops on the 49th floor. Wally defeated the Dusclops with his newly-evolved Grovyle.
Trivia
- In Generation III, stopping the bicycle on a certain section of cracked floor tiles on the second floor, it is possible to fall on top of a rock. However, it is possible to walk off the rock so there is no risk of being stuck there.
- In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the Sky Pillar theme is a remix of the song that plays in Emerald when Rayquaza comes down to stop Groudon and Kyorge from fighting each other.
- In the remakes, if the player lets the memory girl examine their Rayquaza or Deoxys, she will say "<Pokémon> met <player> at... the inside of a tall building.", even if the Deoxys in question was caught during the Delta Episode.
