Shin (Japanese: Shin) is Yū Shirogane's rival in the Pocket Monsters Platinum: Aim to Be Battle King!! manga series. He is shown to have knowledge on some basic aspects of Pokémon, such as the requirement of Badges for traded Pokémon to obey.

Pokémon

Shin has been known to have a large amount of Pokémon in the manga, coming from his video game. He first battles Yū in the first chapter of the series, and battles Yū again later in the series.

Empoleon
Empoleon was first seen in the beginning chapter of the series, where it was used in a Double Battle against Yū's Infernape and Shaymin. Here, it battled alongside Shin's Bronzong. In the beginning of the battle, Empoleon raised its evasiveness. It quickly defeated Infernape but was brought down by Shaymin's Leaf Storm.
