Please discuss whether or not to move it on its talk page.

Shauna (Japanese: シノブ Shinobu) is a minor recurring character of the Pokémon anime and a minor Trainer in Generation III games.

In the anime

She appeared in A Meditite Fight! and Just One of the Geysers.

Shauna first appeared to challenge Ash Ketchum after she heard about him losing to Brawly, her mentor. She fought with her Meditite against Ash's Pikachu and ended up losing. She told Ash and his friends that she was the apprentice and girlfriend of Brawly which they found out later wasn't true after May asked her about it in front of him. Shauna felt really sorry about lying but Brawly forgave her. At the end of the episode, Brawly asked Shauna to be his apprentice.

Shauna judged Ash's rematch against Brawly in Just One of the Geysers.

Due to a dubbing error, 4Kids Entertainment named her "Shauna" rather than "Tessa". This is similar to the situation that happened with Shelly and Tabitha being named Isabelle and Harlan, respectively.

Meditite
Meditite is Shauna's only known Pokémon whom she trains with. It first appeared in a battle against Ash and his Pikachu. It started off with Focus Punch which Pikachu dodged. When Pikachu attacked, Meditite's Detect came in handy. Suddenly, Brawly appeared and Meditite was recalled. Later, Shauna wanted to finish her match with Ash. They started battling again, but the battle was quickly being controlled by Shauna. Then, Ash told Pikachu to imagine that Meditite was a wave. Pikachu managed to dodge Meditite and then used Thunderbolt to knock Meditite out. According to Brawly, Shauna has trained with Meditite ever since she was a child.

Meditite's known moves are Meditate, Hi Jump Kick, Detect and Focus Punch.

The same Battle Girl appears in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald as one of Trainers in Dewford Gym. In the English versions of Ruby and Sapphire she is named Tessa, and is renamed Jocelyn in the English version of Pokémon Emerald (her Japanese name is the same in all three games and the anime). Her team also changed from Ruby and Sapphire in Emerald. Meditite is present in both of her teams.
