Serena (Japanese: セレナ Serena) is a future traveling companion of Ash who debuted in Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!.

History

In Kalos, Where Dreams and Adventures Begin!, Serena slept in late and her mother asked her Fletchling to wake her up when she failed to do so. It woke her up by pecking at her head. Once up her mother began training her on how to race a Rhyhorn. As an accomplished Rhyhorn racer, she wished for Serena to follow in her footsteps. However, she isn't all too thrilled at the prospect of practicing. In the opening of Lumiose City Pursuit!, Serena was shown trying to control her mother's Rhyhorn while riding it but was struggling. She ended up getting thrown off then announced that she hated the training regimen.

In the evening, Serena is shown to be still cross with her mother after the Rhyhorn race practice left her with scratches all over her face. She then sat down to watch the news which was reporting that a rampaging Garchomp was causing destruction to Lumiose City. When it climbed the tower, she saw a boy trying to talk to it while puting himself in danger. After the Garchomp was calmed, Serena looked at the boy intently. The next day while feed Rhyhorn she stated that something interesting was going to happen and it involved the boy on television.

Her Pokémon journey is set to start in XY003.
