Seeds (Japanese: タネ Seeds) are items in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series. All seeds restore the Pokémon's belly by five when eaten, except for the Reviver Seed which restores everything after a Pokémon faints. Almost all seeds have additional properties in certain situations. For instance, if the seed is thrown at the enemy (or affects adjacent enemies), the seed may cause status effects or damage to either the user or an enemy. As seeds are designed to be thrown, they cannot be caught.

Jobs often require a particular seed to be delivered.

In Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, seeds can be found in dungeons, or purchased from the Kecleon Shop in Pokémon Square.

In Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness and Explorers of Sky, seeds are once again found in dungeons or purchased at the Kecleon Shop in Treasure Town.

In Gates to Infinity, seeds, outside of dungeons, can be grown or purchased at various Paradise facilities, or bought at Post Town's Kecleon Shop.

Description MDGTI Eating it gives the user the Encouraged status. The more teammates the user has, the longer the Encouraged status lasts. SMD Eating it makes the user encouraged, makes all of the user's moves and attacks sure to hit, and boosts critical-hit rates. The more teammates on the floor, the longer the user's encouraged status lasts. The status wears off after a while.

A Quick Seed was seen in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters Out of the Gate!, where Pikachu gave it to Squirtle, so that the Tiny Turtle Pokémon could outspeed the Skarmory that was keeping Pikachu and his little brother Pichu as hostages, and defeat it.
