Scolipede is | Scolipede is a centipede-like Pokémon that usually stands with the front half of its body raised vertically off the ground. Its segmented body is dark magenta, except for its smooth, dark gray underside. Long, slightly bent horns similar to antennae extend from its head, as well as an identical pair of horns on its rear. Purple bands decorate these horns, and teardrop-shaped rings of the same color mark each body segment, one on each side of its body. It possesses four pairs of short, purple fore-claws on the body segments that make up its neck, which are used to inject poison. The four hind legs are longer, thicker and spaced farther apart. Each hind limb has curved dark grey bands around the middle. Scolipede lives in lush forests. It is very aggressive and will not give up until victorious. This Pokémon chases down enemies with great speed, and then attacks relentlessly with its horns until it prevails.

It could be based on ''{{wp|Arthropleura}}'', a prehistoric relative of centipedes that grew to two and a half meters. Scolipede also has a little in common with {{wp|millipede}}s, and may also draw inspiration from a red ''{{wp|Archispirostreptus gigas}}'', a species of millipede often kept as a pet. Its appearance may also draw reference to {{wp|scoliosis}}, a spinal condition in which the backbone curves abnormally. This may also draw reference to its major increase in height between its evolutionary forms. Scolipede's posture, and the fact that it stands on four 'main' legs, could be an indication that it draws some inspiration from {{wp|centaur}}s.

It evolves from Whirlipede starting at level 30. It is the final form of Venipede.
Biology
Scolipede is a centipede-like Pokémon that usually stands with the front half of its body raised vertically off the ground.

Trivia
- Scolipede is the tallest and heaviest of all Bug-type Pokémon, as well as being the heaviest Poison-type Pokémon.
- Scolipede represents November in the Unova horoscope.
- In Generation V, Scolipede and its evolutionary relatives have Quick Feet instead of Speed Boost as their Hidden Ability. If a Scolipede with Quick Feet is transferred from Generation V to Generation VI using the Poké Transporter, its Ability will become Speed Boost.
Origin
Scolipede's species shows that it was inspired by the centipede, most likely the Scolopendra gigantea. It could be based on Arthropleura, a prehistoric relative of centipedes that grew to two and a half meters. Scolipede also has a little in common with millipedes, and may also draw inspiration from a red Archispirostreptus gigas, a species of millipede often kept as a pet. Its appearance may also draw reference to scoliosis, a spinal condition in which the backbone curves abnormally. This may also draw reference to its major increase in height between its evolutionary forms. Scolipede's posture, and the fact that it stands on four 'main' legs, could be an indication that it draws some inspiration from centaurs.
Name origin
Scolipede is a combination of Scolopendra (genus of centipedes) and centipede or millipede.
Pendror is derived from Scolopendra.
