Sand Stream (Japanese: すなおこし Sand Raising) is an ability introduced in Generation III. Three Pokémon have this ability, all of which are Ground-type or are evolved from a Ground-type.

Effect

In battle

Sand Stream will summon a sandstorm in battle. Its effects are the same as Sandstorm but, instead of lasting for five turns, it lasts for the remainder of the battle or until it is replaced by another weather condition. If a Pokémon with Sand Stream is sent out in the same turn as another Pokémon whose ability affects the weather, the slower Pokémon's ability will override the faster ability.

Outside of battle

Sand Stream has no effect outside of battle.
