Plot
Cilan and Pansage are in Kanto together and they've stopped at a lake. All of a sudden Cilan sees a robotic Pokémon which he thinks is real, so he tries to catch it using his fishing skills, but he accidently ends up hooking a Gyarados instead, and Gyarados begins going on a rampage and fires a Flamethrower at Cilan and Pansage. Cilan decides to battle with Gyarados and he instructs Pansage to use his Bullet Seed which he does, but then something shocks Gyarados and it fires a Hyper Beam. Cilan then notices Pansage is hurt and takes him to a Pokémon Center. As Cilan rushes to the Pokémon Center, he almost runs into Brock and they both apologize and then Cilan continues rushing to the Pokémon Center as Brock watches him.
Once he gets to the Pokémon Center, Cilan informs Nurse Joy about the incident that happened with Gyarados and that Pansage got injured. Just then, Brock comes in and says he can treat Pansage and Nurse Joy informs Cilan that Brock is training to become a Pokémon Doctor, and as usual Brock begins to flirt with Nurse Joy causing Croagunk to come out of his Pokéball and use Poison Jab on Brock, causing him to fall to the ground in agony. After Brock is better, he and Nurse Joy treat Pansage as Cilan waits anxiously.
Brock comes back out and informs Cilan that Pansage is feeling better and all he needs now is a good rest, so Cilan decides to leave Pansage with Brock until he's okay. Cilan and Ayumi are outside on the battle field and Cilan chooses Stunfisk to battle with Pikachu. Ayumi instructs Pikachu to use Thunder Bolt, and she does and the Thunder Bolt hits Stunfisk as it laughs. After they get done practicing the gang decides to eat, and both Brock and Cilan mention they used to cook for a friend of theirs, which was Ash, and they both mention he had a major impact on their lives, although they never mention him by name.

Trivia
- Cilan and Brock read the title card.
- This is the first time that a female Pikachu has been shown in the anime since gender differences were introduced.
- Prior to this, Ash's Pikachu disguised himself as female by taping a heart-shaped piece of paper onto his tail in Beauties Battling for Pride and Prestige!.
- Despite Cilan having heard of Brock from Ash and Dawn in Expedition to Onix Island! and meeting him in this episode, they never introduce themselves to each other and thus never realize that they are both Ash's friends.
Errors
- In one scene of the Trainers going to the Pokémon Center, Ledyba's face is black instead of red.
