Trivia

  • Ritchie reads the title card.
  • At one point, Ritchie mentions Ash. Silver's reaction suggests that he knows of him though he has not appeared in the main series and Ritchie doesn't notice it.
  • This is the most recent episode in the series canon in which a Pikachu other than the one belonging to Ash has appeared in the flesh. Another Pikachu would appear in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Team Go-Getters out of the Gate!, though it is debatable if this is canon with the rest of the anime.

Errors

Dub edits

  • Ritchie does the narration in the Japanese version.
  • The boat that the episode begins on is not named in the Japanese version, while the dub identifies it as the S.S. Anne. An error is avoided here as the ship that sank in Battle Aboard the St. Anne was referred to by its Japanese name - the St. Anne - in the dub of that episode.
  • The volcano that Ritchie and Silver visit is actually Mt. Ember, but the dubbers failed to pick this up, giving it instead the name Mount Magma.

In other languages

  • Italian: Sulle tracce della leggenda
