Playable at the [[Mauville Game Corner]] in [[Hoenn]], roulette allows players to place bets on where a ball will land.  Bets are placed in the similar fashion to the [[card flip]] game in [[Generation II]]; by single space, by column, or by row.  The wheel has twelve spaces, each linked to one of three colors (yellow, green, or purple) and four Pokémon ({{p|Makuhita}}, {{p|Azurill}}, {{p|Skitty}}, or {{p|Wynaut}}).  Winning a bet by space returns pays out 12 times the bet amount; by Pokémon species, four times the bet amount; by color, three times the bet amount.  Each ball remains on the wheel until the wheel is reset.  A by-species or by-color bet increases its payout when some of the possibilities are taken off the board.  The multiplier of the payout is always equal to 12 divided by the number of empty spaces in the row or column. So if a bet has already landed on a Wynaut, that row will have a x6 multiplier instead.  The board resets once six balls have been put into play.

The roulette

Roulette is a game at the Mauville Game Corner in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. It is based on the game roulette, which can be found at many real-world casinos.

Play

The roulette wheel

The roulette wheels have twelve slots. Each slot has a different combination of one of three colors (yellow, green, and purple) and one of four Pokémon (Makuhita, Azurill, Skitty, and Wynaut). By betting which slot a ball will land in, the player can win Coins.
