Release information

This card was released as a promotional card. The Japanese version of this card was released in CoroCoro magazine in August 2001. The English version of this card was released at BattleZone events in January 2003. There was another version, which includes a gold "Winner" stamp in the bottom right corner of the artwork. A jumbo versions of the card was also released, with the winner logo, which lack the reverse-holographic treatment.

This card was the first of only two VS-style cards to see release outside Japan, the other being Rocket's Scizor.

Continuous Scratch may be based on Fury Swipes, a move in the Pokémon games that Sneasel can learn.
