This card was released as a promotional card. The Japanese version of this card was released in CoroCoro magazine in August 2001. The English version of this card was released at BattleZone events in January 2003.

Trivia

This card was the first of only two VS-style cards to see release outside Japan, the other being Rocket's Scizor.

Continuous Scratch may be based off Fury Swipes, a move in the Pokémon games that Sneasel can learn.
