This card was released as a promotional card. The Japanese version of this card was released in Trainer Magazine #12. The English version of this card was released at BattleZone events in March 2003. Two versions were released, one had a gold "Winner" stamp in the bottom right corner of the artwork and the other did not. A jumbo version of the card was also released with the winner logo.
Trivia
- This card was the second of only two VS-style cards to see release outside Japan, the other being Rocket's Sneasel, and the only VS-style card to see release outside Japan that wouldn't be a Basic Pokémon in a traditional style.

Origin
Focus's Japanese name is that of Focus Energy, a move in the Pokémon games that Scizor can learn. Agility is also a move that Scizor can learn. The Iron-Masked Marauder has a Scizor in Celebi: The Voice of the Forest.
