Roar of Time (Japanese: ときのほうこう Roar of Time) is a damage-dealing Dragon-type move introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature move of Dialga.

Effect

Generation IV to VII

Roar of Time inflicts damage and then forces the user to recharge during the next turn. Unless the move fails due to missing, type immunity, or is blocked by a protection move, the user will always have to recharge the next turn.

Generation VIII onwards

In Versions 1.0 to 1.2.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Roar of Time could not be selected in a battle. Starting with Version 1.3.0, it is usable and functions the same as it did in previous generations.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus

Roar of Time's base power has been lowered to 120. Instead of forcing the user to recharge, it lowers the user's action speed.

If used by Origin Forme Dialga, Roar of Time's animation, base power, and accuracy are changed.

Roar of Time inflicts damage to all enemies in the same room. If the move hits a Pokémon successfully, the user is inflicted with the recoil status condition (Paused prior to Super Mystery Dungeon) for 1 turn. This status prevents the user from taking any actions.

Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia

In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, Dialga is available in a Special Mission. At the beginning of the mission, it uses Roar of Time to send the player and Wendy back in time to before the player moved to Chicole Village. If the player fails to capture Dialga within a hidden time limit, Dialga will send them back to the beginning of the mission.

In Pokémon GO, Roar of Time is a Charged Attack that has been available since Febuary 24th, 2024. Its Adventure Effect outside of battle, by using Dialga candy and Stardust, it can pause the timers of Incense, Daily Adventure Incense, Star Piece and Lucky Eggs. It costs 5,000 Stardust and 5 Dialga Candy, and lasts 6 minutes.

Description

Games Description MDTDS Inflicts damage on all enemies in the room with the user. However, it also changes the user's status to Paused, making it incapable of action. BSL おなじへやの てきポケモンに ダメージをあたえる しかし じぶんが ようすみじょうたいに なってしまう Conq. The user blasts the enemy with power that distorts even time. It cannot be used 2 turns in a row. MDGtI UNUSED SMD It damages enemies in the same room, but it also makes you recoil, which prevents you from doing anything on the next turn.
