Ricky

Ricky (Japanese: レイジ Reiji) is a self-proclaimed Psychic and the character of the day in Climbing the Tower of Success!.

In the anime

He entered the Wishing Bell Festival contest along with Ash, Iris, Cilan, and Stephan and was grouped with them in the first portion of the contest. He claims to be a psychic, but in reality, he was using his Elgyem's Psychic-type powers to get through most of the competition. Though, it was his cheating that helped the gang get through the quiz portion of the contest by using Elgyem to manipulate Miles's mind to get the right answer. He was the first to cross the finish line during the race across the lake portion because he used Elgyem's Psychic to simply float across.

During the dress up and impersonation portion of the contest, Ricky was supposed to dress up as Officer Jenny while Elgyem was to dress up as Herdier. Again, he used Elgyem to make Miles think he had made the perfect impression of her and to him, looked exactly like her. He along with Ash and Stephan were the last in the competition by the part where they all had to climb the Mistralton Tower while keeping their Litwick shaped candle lit. Ricky was the first to get to the top of the tower by use of Elgyem's Psychic but was also the first to lose up there when the Pidove blew out his Litwick candle with Air Slash.

Ricky likes to believe his Elgyem's psychic abilities are his own and will often make motions as if he is performing a move himself.
