Pikachu is a Pokémon that belongs to Isamu Akai. He is the cousin of Clefairy and one of the only Pokémon in the manga who cannot talk, instead relying on pantomime to communicate. Pikachu is often shown as an opposite of Clefairy because he is intelligent and makes everything much better than his cousin. Because of this, Clefairy and Pikachu are sometimes shown as rivals.

Pikachu has evolved into Raichu. However, because Pokémon can devolve in the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga series, he has since devolved back to the Pikachu stage.
