Recover (Japanese: じこさいせい Self-regeneration) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generations I-III

Recover restores up to 50% of the user's maximum HP, and it has 20 PP.

In Generation I core series, Recover will fail if the difference between the user's current and maximum HP is 0, or if (user's maximum HP - user's current HP) is one less than a multiple of 256. If the user's current HP is greater than its maximum HP, Recover will set the user's current HP to equal its maximum HP. In other games it will fail only when the difference between the user's current and maximum HP is 0.

Generation IV onwards

Recover's PP is reduced to 10.

If powered up by a Normalium Z into Z-Recover, all of the user's lowered stats are reset.
