Quick Guard (Japanese: ファストガード Fast Guard) is a non-damaging Fighting-type move introduced in Generation V.

Effect

Generation V

Quick Guard protects all Pokémon on the user's side of the field from moves that have increased priority during that turn, such as Quick Attack or Aqua Jet. It does not block moves that have been given an increased priority through Prankster that would not usually have one.

Using Quick Guard, Wide Guard, Detect, Protect, or Endure consecutively decreases the chance of success by 50% for each successful use.

This move has +3 priority, so it will be executed before most other moves.

Feint and Shadow Force lift the effect of Quick Guard from the opponent's team when successfully used on an opponent, and Feint hits despite being an increased priority move. When used on an ally, Feint is blocked by Quick Guard.

Generation VI

Quick Guard will now block moves given an increased priority through Prankster and Gale Wings. However, even if given priority by these Abilities, Quick Guard cannot block any moves that would normally bypass Protect, Detect and Spiky Shield, such as Confide and Transform.

Quick Guard can now be used consecutively without failing, although it still decreases the chance of success for Protect, Detect, Endure, King's Shield, and Spiky Shield.

Hyperspace Fury, Hyperspace Hole, and Phantom Force will lift the effect of Quick Guard from the target's team when used successfully. Feint and Shadow Force now lift the effect of Quick Guard from all allies, if they hit an ally.

Generation VII

If powered up by a Fightinium Z into Z-Quick Guard, the user's Defense raises one stage.
