Pikachu uses Quick Attack as its up Special attack.
{{SSB|Pikachu}} uses {{sbw|Quick Attack}} as its up special move. Pikachu dashes quickly, and can do so in two different directions, provided the angle difference is large enough. In [[Super Smash Bros.]], this move did no damage, though this was changed in [[Super Smash Bros. Melee]] and each following title.

Quick Attack (Japanese: でんこうせっか Lightning Speed) is a damage-dealing Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Quick Attack inflicts damage, and is an increased priority move. If the target does not use an increased priority move during the round that it is used, Quick Attack will go first regardless of the user's or target's speed.

If the target also uses a move with an increased priority of +1 during the same round that the user uses Quick Attack, the attack order of the users will be determined normally.

If the user is put to sleep or frozen during the round that Quick Attack is (or attempts to be) used, Quick Attack's increased speed priority will not be reset. Subsequently, it will only be reset on the turn after the user wakes up or is defrosted, or if the user switches out.

Trivia

  • Quick Attack is often involved in the strategy that is referred to by some as F.E.A.R.
  • When Ash's Pidgeotto first used Quick Attack, it vaguely resembled the much later introduced Brave Bird.
  • Quick Attack and its variations are tied with Hyper Beam and its variations for the largest number of variations to a single move.
  • Quick Attack's behavior has remained unchanged since Generation I.
  • Quick Attack is the only increased priority move introduced in Generation I.
