Professor Araragi (Japanese: アララギ博士 Dr. Araragi) is the resident Pokémon professor of the Isshu region. She is the first main series Pokémon professor who is female.
In the games
Professor Araragi will debut in Pokémon Black and White, where, like the other professors, she will give the player a Pokédex in her lab; however, she leaves a present containing the starter Pokémon at the player's house for the player, Bel and Cheren.
In the anime
Professor Araragi makes her first appearance in BW001 and is an old friend of Prof. Oak. She gives Ash, Delia and Prof. Oak a ride in her jeep to her lab so she can study Ash's Pikachu who has lost his electricity from Zekrom. She then shows Ash the new Starter Pokémon with Shooti, and gives Shooti his Pokéballs.
Later the storm arrives again but this time it gives Pikachu's electric powers back. And the next day Ash departs.
She reappeared in BW003 where she sent Mijumaru's Pokéball to Ash, so ho could capture it.

| Mijumaru is a Pokémon which Professor Araragi gives to new trainers if they choose it. One appeared in BW001 where it appeared to Ash and Shooti, it seemed very cute and hated that Shooti picked Tsutarja. It has feelings for Ash after he called it cute, it watched the battle between Ash and Shooti, before returning and after seeing Ash hurt (from Pikachu) it went to see if he was all-right and so it decided to follow Ash.
It later appeared in BW002 where Team Rocket captured Pikachu and Iris's Kibago, it threw its shell to burst the balloon, and sent Team Rocket with Koromori flying with a Water Gun. In BW003, Ash caught it. Its only known move is Water Gun. | ||

- While Araragi is the first female professor in the games, she will not be the first female professor in the anime, being beaten by Professor Ivy of the Orange Archipelago by more than ten years.
