Professor Icarus
Professor Icarus (Japanese: イモリ博士 Dr. Imori) is the character of the day in A UFO for Elgyem!.
Professor Icarus first appeared in a flashback given by the townspeople of Area 28 while they were explaining experiencing random mental visions while visiting or being around his house. Cilan is intrigued and the trio decide to go investigate Icarus's house. Icarus invites them in and as they discuss the strange occurrences, Icarus suddenly gets a vision of a machine exploding and rushes to his basement. Ash, Iris and Cilan follow him and a find a large machine is overloading and on the verge of exploding. Icarus then tries to shut down the system but isn't able to in time and orders that they unplug the machine. The plug is too heavy for them to pull out, so an Elgyem appears and uses Telekinesis to pull out the plug. Icarus introduces the Elgyem as his friend.
He informs them that he first saw a UFO at age eight and became inspired to create his own spacecraft. After teaching at a university, he later left and used his knowledge to build a miniature flying saucer, and that was when he met Elgyem lying in the forest. He nursed it back to health and the two became close.
Later, Elgyem is kidnapped by Team Rocket and Icarus gives chase using his flying saucer and with the help of Cilan, Ash, and Iris, manages to get Elgyem back. The pair later bid their new friends farewell.

| Elgyem was found by Professor Icarus in the forest near his house. It was nursed back to health but was timid and afraid of Icarus at first. It later formed a strong bond with the professor and decided to live with him. It has a habit of giving people visions from the future of impending doom to help prevent the accident from happening.
Elgyem's known moves are Teleport and Telekinesis. | ||
