Powder Snow (Japanese: こなゆき Powder Snow) is a damage-dealing Ice-type move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

Generation II

Powder Snow inflicts damage and has a 9.8% chance of freezing the target.

Generation III onwards

The effects are the same as the previous generation; however, it has a 10% chance of freezing the target instead.

Powder Snow hits both opponents in a Double Battle. In a Triple Battle, Powder Snow will only hit opposing adjacent Pokémon.

    • However, Castform can be an Ice type, so every Pokémon that can learn this move can potentially get STAB from it, with the exception of Smeargle
