Poncho

Poncho (Japanese: パンチョ Poncho) is a character of the day who appeared in Go Go Ludicolo!. He and his Ludicolo are traveling street performers who go from town to town with his Ludicolo to entertain people with their bongo-playing and dancing.

Poncho encountered Ash and his friends in the middle of a forest located near North Petalburg. He challenged Ash to a battle, adding that if he wins, he gets their sandwiches, but if he loses, he would buy them some cheeseburgers. Ash accepted the challenge, choosing Corphish. Poncho played his drums throughout the match, helping Ludicolo keep tempo and evade oncoming attacks with ease. As a result of that and Ash's underestimation, he lost.

Corphish refused to accept its defeat, and after searching for them, it found Poncho and Ludicolo and demanded a rematch. Before Poncho could respond, Team Rocket captured him and Ludicolo. Corphish intervened, causing the trio's Meowth balloon to crash and send them blasting off. Impressed with how strong Corphish was, Poncho decided to share the sandwiches he received earlier with the group. Poncho also agreed to the rematch, this time against Ash's Torkoal, though the winner was not revealed.

Poncho's Ludicolo
Lombre → Ludicolo
Ludicolo is Poncho's only known Pokémon. It was revealed that Poncho had evolved it from a Lombre using a Water Stone.

Poncho's drums helped keep Ludicolo's tempo up, allowing it to evade oncoming attacks with ease. It first took on Ash's Corphish and won because of its defensive techniques. After being captured by and rescued from Team Rocket, Ludicolo battled Ash's Torkoal, though the winner was not revealed.

Ludicolo's known moves are Double Team, Protect, Focus Punch, and Hyper Beam.
