Growth and harvest
Effect
Generation III
In Ruby and Sapphire, the Pomeg Berry cannot be used directly and only has a use as an ingredient for Pokéblocks.
A Pomeg Berry will mature from a planted seed to a full-grown, fruit-bearing tree in 12 hours, with 3 hours per stage. A Pomeg tree will yield 2-6 Berries.

Generation IV
From Emerald, the Pomeg Berry can be used from the Bag on a Pokémon to increase the Pokémon's friendship (+10 at friendship 0-99, +5 at friendship 100-199, +1SwSh-/+2E-USUM at friendship 200-254) and lowers its HP EVs by ten points (but not below 0). In Generation IV only, this Berry reduces the EV to 100 if it was above 110 when used.
A Pomeg Berry will mature from a planted seed to a full-grown, fruit-bearing tree in 32 hours, with 8 hours per stage. A Pomeg tree will yield 1-5 Berries.

Generation VI
Ingredient
A Pomeg Berry will mature from a planted seed to a full-grown, fruit-bearing tree in 48 hours, with 8 hours per stage. A Pomeg tree will yield 1-20 Berries. During its growth, watering the plant will add 0.5 Berries to the final harvest, weeding it will add 1.5, and removing a pest will add 3.

Used on a Pokémon
Tag information
Using this Berry on a pokémon outside of battle increases it's friendliness, however, it will lower it's HP Effort values by ten points. If this side effect would lower the effort value of the affected stat below zero, it sets that stat's effort values to zero instead. Individual values are not changed.
* No. 21
* Size: 5.3" (13.5 cm)
* Firmness: Very hard

Giving this Berry to a pokémon during battle or to hold during battle has no useful effect.

Diamond & Pearl arc

In A Conk on Cranidos's Cranium, a Pomeg Berry was a part of Diamond and Pearl's manzai routine. In the Chuang Yi translation, it was referred to as a Rowap Berry instead.

In Problematic Probopass and Mad Magnezone II, a Pomeg Berry was seen among the many Berries that Cyrus's Probopass's Mini-Noses dug out of Lax's fur while trying to retrieve Cyrus's camera.

Trivia

 • Due to its ability to lower a Pokémon's HP EVs, it is famous for the Pomeg glitch, which can lower the HP of a Pokémon which has low HP so that it underflows. The glitch occurs in Pokémon Emerald, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.
