Pokémon the First Movie is the name of the soundtrack to the first English-language Pokémon movie, Mewtwo Strikes Back, and the first English-language Pikachu short, Pikachu's Vacation. It was produced by Atlantic Records, and its catalog number is 83261. It was released in the United States on November 9, 1999. The CD's total length is 60:16.

It is one of the few English Pokémon soundtracks not available in the iTunes store, possibly due to difficulty with licensing as many contemporary pop stars performed on the album. Buyers of this CD could mail a proof of purchase of the CD to receive a promotional Jigglypuff card.

The album is a HyperCD, containing "exclusive film footage" as CD-ROM data. This data consisted of a link to a hidden website that hosted the footage.

Trivia

  • The Latin American version of this soundtrack included a hidden bonus track - the Spanish version of Pokémon Theme performed by Álvaro Véliz.
  • A lot of these songs were never featured in the actual movie- in fact, some of them were recorded before the movie was even made.
