Pokémon TV is a free video service provided by The Pokémon Company International that provides select episodes of the Pokémon anime to viewers. It was first accessible to users in November 2010. Episodes are divided by series or by seasons with the viewable episodes being rotated out over time. It can be viewed through the Internet with a web browser or by downloading the free "Pokémon TV" app on the App Store for iOS (with Chromecast support) and tvOS (Apple TV 4th generation), on Google Play for Android (with Chromecast support), on the Amazon Appstore for the Amazon Fire TV, and on the Roku Channel Store for Roku devices.

Available content

English

There are two English versions of the service, a United States and a United Kingdom version. Both the website and the mobile app are available for both versions. On the United States service, all six series are available with ten episodes for each. Each Friday, the episodes showing are rotated, removing the earliest five and adding the next five of a series. The United Kingdom service generally uses the same schedule. The new episodes rotate identically with the US version with both regions updating at the same time, but the UK is updated on Saturdays rather than Fridays due to time zone differences. In addition, specials shown on the US and UK services may differ.

The US version is accessed through the US website or, in the case of the mobile app, having the device set to United States English or an unsupported language. The UK version is accessed through the UK website or using the app with the device set to United Kingdom English.

Currently, seasons 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 14, and 17, Pokémon Origins, Pokémon the Movie 2000, and Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice are being aired. The first 28 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ are also available in the United States, but only the first eigth episodes of this season are available in the United Kingdom. In the US service, the Ghost-type Channel is also available.

French, German, Italian, and Castilian Spanish

The French, German, Italian, and Castilian Spanish services show the episodes on a shared schedule. Like the English versions, there are six different episode categories. Each category shows ten episodes (in release order) that rotate each Friday, with the episode showing being similar to the English versions in that it removes the earliest five and adds the next five. Currently, seasons 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 14, and 17, Pokémon the Movie 2000, Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice, Pokémon Origins, and the first three episodes of Pokémon Generations are being aired. The first three episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ are available in the French service, the first eigth in the Italian and Spanish services, and the first thirteen in the German service. Both the website and the mobile app are available in these languages.

Danish, Dutch, Finnish, Norwegian, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, and Swedish

These languages' services also show the episodes on a shared schedule, but unlike the other languages, the service is divided by seasons. Each season shows ten episodes (in release order) that rotate every Friday. In addition to Pokémon the Movie 2000 and Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice, they currently have four to five categories showing the following seasons:

  • Danish - Seasons 7, 16, 17, and 18, and the first 22 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ;
  • Dutch - Seasons 14, 16, 17, and 18, and the first 22 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ;
  • Finnish - Seasons 9, 10, 11, and 12, the first 22 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ;
  • Norwegian - Seasons 9, 10, 11, and 13, and the first 22 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ;
  • Brazilian Portuguese - Seasons 13, 14, 15, and 16, and the first 22 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ;
  • Russian - Seasons 7, 8, 17, and 18;
  • Swedish - Seasons 1, 7, 17, and 18, and the first 22 episodes of Pokémon the Series: XYZ.

Other languages

Despite Pokémon TV being available in Brazilian Portuguese and Castilian Spanish, Portugal, Argentina, and Chile do not have their own website to distribute the service and instead redirect the user to the official North American site.

Languages other than these or the ones with more support are unavailable in the service.
