Pokémon Sky Relay
The (Japanese: ポケモンスカイリレー Pokémon Sky Relay) is a competition in the anime that is held in a valley at Kalos Route 15. It was featured in XY077. Ash entered with his Fletchinder, Hawlucha and Noibat, and was able to become second, behind Ornis.
The competition is identical to a regular relay. It consists of three legs and participants enter with three Pokémon that are able to either fly or float. The Pokémon that is flying carries a ribbon it has to hand over to the next Pokémon. Participants give their Pokémon orders from hot air balloons.
The Pokémon Sky Relay starts in an open area. The first leg goes through a forest and ends at the end of the forest. The Pokémon in the second leg make a circle through the valley, and then pass through a field of towering rocks. At the end of this, the third leg starts. The third leg is straight and relatively easy, allowing inexperienced Pokémon to be able to compete as well. However, it does pass through a valley with strong wind currents. The finish is at the same place as the start. The winner receives a cup.
