The manga has been translated into English.  It was released in issues of Nintendo Power in the USA and Jetix magazine in the UK. A compilation of the story has been released in America by Viz.  Unlike other Pokémon manga, ''Ginji's Rescue Team'' is read from right to left, as is the case in Japanese.
For the manga's English translated release, it was originally syndicated in [[Nintendo Power]] 207-212 (September 2006 - February 2007) in North America and Jetix magazine in the United Kingdom. It was later released in a collected volume by [[VIZ Media]].

A boy named Ginji falls asleep out of fatigue looking for his birthday present and wakes up as a Torchic.  After meeting a Mudkip, the two enter a fissure to rescue a Pokémon crying for help. They are attacked by many Pokémon on the way, such as {{p|Sunkern}}, {{p|Wurmple}}, and {{p|Rattata}} but Ginji fends them off with {{m|Flamethrower}}. They find the Pokémon that was crying for help, which is a {{p|Caterpie}} trapped on top of a tall rock. As they went to get Caterpie, a [[Spider Web (move)|shot of silk]] hits Ginji. As Ginji untangles himself from the silk, Mudkip [[Move|attacks]] with {{m|Water Gun}} against the {{p|Ariados}} that shot Gingi with Spider Web. Then Ginji attacks Ariados with {{m|Flamethrower}} and [[Faint|knocks it out]]. As they return Caterpie out of the fissure, Mudkip asks if they can make a rescue team and Ginji agrees to it.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team (Japanese: ポケモン不思議のダンジョンギンジの救助隊) is a six-part manga by Makoto Mizobuchi based on Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team. It follows the adventures of Ginji, a reckless boy who is turned into a Torchic and forms a rescue team with a cautious Mudkip.

Dutch covers

In France, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team was translated by Glénat as Pokémon Donjon Mystère : Les secouristes de Ginji. It was serialised in the official Nintendo Magazine and was later published as two collected volumes, each containing three chapters.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Rescue Team was also translated to Dutch in the Netherlands, also available in Flanders (Dutch-speaking Belgium) at the time, as Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Ginji's Reddingsteam. It was serialised in Jetix Magazine in three issues, as seperate small booklets.
