Pewter City (Japanese: ニビシティ Nivi City) is located in northwest Kanto, between Viridian Forest and Mt. Moon. It is most notably home to Brock, the Pewter City Gym Leader.

Pewter Museum of Science
Main article: Pewter Museum of Science
A famous museum is located in the northwestern part of town. The main building is open to the public for $50 and features several historical artifacts, including Aerodactyl and Kabutops fossils, and a model of a space shuttle. The second, smaller building is not accessible by the public, but if the player Cuts through and talks to the scientists there, Old Amber can be obtained and used to resurrect an Aerodactyl on Cinnabar Island.
The museum is closed for renovations in Pokémon Gold, Silver and Crystal.
