Trivia

Origin

Hiyappu, along with his two contemporaries, seem to be based on the three wise monkeys motif. Hiyappu, with its eyes closed, represents "See No Evil."

Name origin

Hiyappu's name is possibly derived from 冷や hiya, meaning cool water, and from ape.
