The edition opens with captain of the ship starting to work and walking to his boat. He soon realizes that Diamond was on his ship and ate his supply of food. He decides to take Diamond back to shore. However, he soon finds that all of his employees have been knocked down. A wild Gliscor appears and starts attacking. Diamond starts battling with it and commands his Munchlax to spit its berry out of its fur and throw at Gliscor to buy time. After that he commands his Shieldon to rub its head against Torterra's tree. Gliscor bites Shieldon's head, but it was too hard and made Gliscor feel pain in its mouth. Diamond then explains that Shieldon is steel-type and has very hard head, and by rubbing its head with large tree make its defense go higher. By using this advantage he commends Torterra to use Razor Leaf as the finishing blow. He then hands Byron's letter to the captain. Then the captain allows Diamond to stay on the ship. After that they faced another problem: a very big rock. The rock was then destroyed by Flash Cannon from mystery Pokémon on a boat. Riley then introduces himself to Diamond.
