{{Adv|Ruby}} and {{Adv|Sapphire}} at last reach the [[Seafloor Cavern]]. They wonder how long it's taken them to arrive, and whether the cavern is already deserted, since they passed the lifeless submarine on their way here, but Sapphire thinks she can sense people deep within the cavern. When Ruby grabs Sapphire's hand, she shakes him off, yelling that she still hasn't forgiven him. Pointing out that there are two tunnels, she says she'll go left while he goes right, but Ruby's [[Mightyena (Pokémon)|Nana]] holds her back, as Ruby explains that splitting up is too rash. Suddenly, Nana throws herself towards one of the tunnels, snarling, and moments later a troupe of [[Team Magma Grunt|Magma]] and [[Team Aqua Grunt|Aqua]] grunts appear, surrounding Ruby and Sapphire, who call out all their Pokémon to prepare for a fight.

{{Adv|Ruby}} and {{Adv|Sapphire}} at last reach the [[Seafloor Cavern]]. Although it does not take long for them to dive underwater, Sapphire states that it felt like it has been days. When Sapphire notes that she is holding Ruby's hand, she quickly shakes him off and states that despite his help, she has not forgiven him for what he said to her. Ruby ignores what she says and points out that there are two different tunnels in front of them. Sapphire decides to take the left path, but Ruby stops her and tells her to stay by his side.


Meanwhile, [[Tabitha|Mitch]] and [[Aqua Admin Amber|Amber]] are still trapped inside the submarine, which is beginning to disintegrate under the water pressure even as it floats towards the surface. Water pours in from various leaks as Mitch orders his {{p|Torkoal}} to blow smog into the cabin to increase buoyancy. It's not enough, though, and soon the submarine completely shatters with a ''boom'', knocking Mitch and Amber into the ocean. Amber swallows water and loses consciousness almost at once, but Mitch grabs him and hauls him towards the surface, swimming furiously.
Ruby reveals that [[Nana]] has sensed the presence of someone and has her sniff them out with {{m|Odor Sleuth}}. Suddenly, they are attacked by a group of {{tc|Team Magma Grunt|Team Magma}} and {{tc|Team Aqua Grunt}}s and their Pokémon. Immediately, Ruby and Sapphire send out their Pokémon and prepare to fight and defend themselves.  


Above the ocean, [[Mack]] soars with his {{p|Swellow}}, his Pokégear beeping; soon the wreckage of the submarine breaks the surface just beneath him. He releases an {{p|Armaldo}}, which retrieves Mitch and Amber, laying them out on the floating wreckage of the sub. Mack notes that Mitch's S.O.S. signal surprised him, and by watching his memory flames, learns that [[Team Aqua]] have acquired the Blue Orb. After admitting that he feels sorry for Amber for being betrayed by [[Archie|his own leader]], Mack hauls Mitch onto Armaldo, and they take off.

Tabitha and Amber try their hardest to keep the water from flowing in, but to no avail. Suddenly, the submarine breaks apart, sending the two into the water. Amber tries his hardest to keep his breath, but soon looses consciousness, forcing Tabitha to save the both of them by swimming upwards to the surface.  


When Mitch regains consciousness, Mack explains that they're heading to Route 121 to deal with the Gym Leaders who are trying to interfere with {{p|Groudon}}'s rampage. He also calls [[Magma Admin Courtney|Marge]] and demands she leave her position at the [[Mossdeep Space Center]] to come help too.
On the surface, [[Blaise]] flies above the ocean until he notices a piece of the [[Submarine Explorer 1]] float up to the surface. Blaise sends out an {{p|Armaldo}} and rescues the two from drowning, revealing that Tabitha sent him an SOS signal earlier. As Tabitha is unconscious, Blaise takes his lighter and uses it to find out what had happened to the two. Feeling sorry for Amber, Blaise hopes for his teammates to save him and takes Tabitha away. Tabitha soon wakes up and asks Blaise where he is taking the two of them to.  


Inside the [[Seafloor Cavern]], Ruby and Sapphire fight their way through the press of grunts and have nearly reached Archie and [[Maxie]]. The two leaders take note of the children's courage, but decide it won't help them in the end; the only fate that awaits them is death.
Blaise states that they are going to {{rt|121|Hoenn}}, as that is where the Gym Leaders are facing {{p|Groudon}}. Blaise calls {{FB|Magma Admin|Courtney}}, who reveals that she had seen the destruction Groudon caused. Blaise reveals that there are people trying to stop Groudon and tells her to come and help stop them. When Blaise requests Courtney's current location, she reveals that she is at the [[Mossdeep Space Center]].
 
Back at Ruby and Sapphire's location, the two manage to easily defeat their opponents. They are shocked to hear two more voices commenting on the battle. The look in front of them to find the silhouettes of [[Maxie]] and [[Archie]] approaching them with the Red and Blue Orbs.

Ruby and Sapphire at last reach the Seafloor Cavern. Although it does not take long for them to dive underwater, Sapphire states that it felt like it has been days. When Sapphire notes that she is holding Ruby's hand, she quickly shakes him off and states that despite his help, she has not forgiven him for what he said to her. Ruby ignores what she says and points out that there are two different tunnels in front of them. Sapphire decides to take the left path, but Ruby stops her and tells her to stay by his side.

Ruby reveals that Nana has sensed the presence of someone and has her sniff them out with Odor Sleuth. Suddenly, they are attacked by a group of Team Magma and Team Aqua Grunts and their Pokémon. Immediately, Ruby and Sapphire send out their Pokémon and prepare to fight and defend themselves.
