Template:PokémonSpecialInfobox Onix is On! (Japanese: VSイワーク VS. Iwark) is the fifth round in the Red, Green & Blue arc of the Pokémon Adventure manga.

Synopsis

Red runs to the Pewter Gym's main arena to see a familiar face, Green. He and his Charmeleon are battling in the ring. After Red registers, it is his turn. A muscular trainer and his Graveler are waiting in the ring for him. Since Pikachu doesn't listen to Red, in this battle and the next ones, he uses Poliwhirl and Bulbasaur. They have little health left, so Red creates a strategy of winning with a one-hit K.O. in every battle. This strategy had worked and they are soon facing the Gym Leader, Brock. The last battle begins; however, Red's Pikachu still refuses to fight and even attacks Red. Furious at the trick, Brock orders his Onix to use the powerful move, Skull Bash. The rock snake forms a torpedo and launches itself against Pikachu, but Red rescues it just in time. This takes the Pokémon by surprise and it launches a huge electrical attack that destroys Onix, giving the victory to Red. Admiring his new Boulder Badge, Red tries to befriend Pikachu, but just as before, it pulls a dirty trick on him by shocking him.
